Pixel Art / Re: Dinosword Game (WIP)

I love your characters! They look like they pop right out of a child story book I had when I was a kid. They look so sexual!

I suggest not using the stone pattern on the yellow floor (that's what it is, right?) It's too busy, maybe break it up or just remove it, I know the spectrum has bizarre requiremtns

It's looking better! The hand still has an unnatural pose and the background is really not a very nice color, but it's improved a lot. The flame doesn't look very realistic in the shape, and fire shouldn't have dithering, at least not that much. Dithering is best used sparingly.

@Infinitegames thanks for the critique. The UI that is shown on there is a ui map, it isn't the actual interface. A seperate idle animation will be made, but how do you think it would fare in an environment that is actually windy?

I think it'd look great. It would definitely show the wind

Idle animation?

This isn't subtle enough. It makes it look like it's extremely windy. I'd also say you have this problem on the jump animation... it makes him look like he's flying in an anime show at a thousand miles an hour.

And for your GUI. I really, really don't like it. It's one thing to have contrast, but the pink doesn't fit in AT ALL. I think using a saturated blue might work better, especially if you decrease the saturation of the background graphics. The health and stamina things both bother me, looking far too out of place, hard to read, and they don't look good next to each other. I see what you were trying to do, making stamina less important than health, but I don't think it's working. It should at least be equal in length to the health bar, and since it's so much smaller, it's hard to read the word "Stamina"

I really like this edit. Not only does it improve the viewability of the character (although putting him on top of the house instead of in a position where it would automatically be hard to see him is kind of cheating), it still looks really good

I am not good at drawing fires admittedly.

I ended up removing the light hitting the ground and removing a lot of the light hitting the rocks.

There was more I wanted to do before posting this change, but I am not sure I'll get around to it today.

Your fires are pretty hard to read. I suggest looking at the above edit. It's definitely easier to tell that it's a fire.

Lovely character stuff, I imagine the thing around her waist is a nightmare to animate but it looks smooth.

The new tiles have the same strange 'pillared' effect as mentioned earlier (by Wes) as oppose to simply getting darker towards the centre. Try and keep the size of the particals consistant towards the centre, have a few interior stones at a lower contrast and perhaps even eke out the transition over two tiles. There are also highlights on absolutely everything which I would lose completely; the rock shouldn't really be reflective and it's distracting.

You've got WIP in big letters there but really it's a couple of highly finished tiles and then ones you haven't started. It would be so much easier to block out everything you're going to need from the start and troubleshoot when refining.

Example with inexplicable tulip -

This looks REALLY nice. The problem with your current tiles is that both the rocks and the grass look like they're made out of metal, and the colors are just not working very well.

I still think the biceps are too small. And he looks even more like a Gorilla now than before  :yell:

...So, what exactly is the perspective? It looks like the first few are top down and the last is sidescrolling, but the top down ones have everything facing the camera.

YES  :y:
