Pixel Art / Re: Mad inventor sprites

Thanks for the crits. I'm not too happy with the side view either, a little too thin methinks. I'll edit it later, for now heres my front walk cycle. Only three frames, since I'm rather pressed for time.

General Discussion / Re: Zooming the pictures does not work anymore.

Sorry for the threadcromancy but can I make a little request? Slow connections make initializing the zoom script slow as every element in the page has to load first. Theres a way to make the script initialize once just the HTML is loaded. I'm not sure how editable the template for this forum is but if you can edit everything, you can put the following code after the closing body tag:

Code: [Select]
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"><!--
initZoom();
//-->
</script>

"window.onLoad=initZoom" should also be edited out from the script. Just a little plea from a 56k-er >_<

General Discussion / Re: Choosing colors and pallettes

Thank you dhaos and helm for taking your time to write down your thoughts on palette control. It's always been something that frustrated me as a pixel artist and those examples really help.

General Discussion / Re: 72 Hour Game Development Competition (March)

I'm rather interested in this, I'm in a game authoring class this semester. The only problem is the competition falls quite near the finals week but I'll see if I can get my professor to give extra grades for the class for people who enter this competition.

Pixel Art / Mad inventor sprites
« on: March 15, 2006, 08:02:23 pm »
We're making a "demo" for an RPG in my Game Authoring class right now, much to my glee. I haven't really pixelled anything in quite a while but here is my efforts so far. Nothing mindblowing but I'm rather surprised with myself considering how long it's been. The sprite is for the lead male in the game, a mad steampunk inventor bent on taking over the world. 16 colours including transparency. Here is the game document if anyone is curious.
