General Discussion / Re: Zoom feature blurry with microsoft edge

Ok, i'll go with chrome for now. I used to be a firefox user but the performance of it have been bad for me for quite some time already so i wanted to switch.

Try refreshing your profile (question mark in menu, then troubleshooting, then use the button on the top right). It basically creates a new profile and copies over essential stuff. You will lose settings and some other things in the process, and the whole thing is more of a hack than anything else, but I guess the Firefox profile stuff is too archaic and impossible to properly maintain otherwise, so until it is replaced this is the only option.

As far as I know, Edge doesn't support the image-rendering CSS rules. Pixelation even has the old IE-specific "-ms-interpolation-mode: nearest-neighbor" rule, but Edge doesn't support that either.

There's no solution*, you should use another browser for browsing pixel art sites. image-rendering support is on Edge's roadmap, but it's not a high-priority feature.

* There is technically a solution: using JavaScript to do the scaling. This is overkill, especially since most browsers do already support nearest neighbour sampling in some way.

Yup, all of this. Nothings more needs to be said. Thanks for the post :)

10 years on Pixelation today ^-^

Wanted to say thanks to the amazing community, Ptoing and the other admins and mods for keeping the place running for so long, the oldies that I syphoned knowledge from and the newbies who keep the chain alive.

Everything I learned about art started here and I wouldn't have the career or life I do today without it. Truly a unique place and amazing place to be on the internet. Here's to 10 more :D

Thanks for following our Twitter account :p I think you did that only recently.

I guess I've also been part of Pixelation for quite a while now, so let me chime in and say that I'm glad I got the opportunity to help out such an amazing community.

General Discussion / Re: Potential Activity

Well, there's one thing we discussed in the Slack earlier.. it was only a rough idea, but I'm gonna throw it out because it's awesome and I wanna do it at all costs. Some of you may have seen that we changed our Twitter handle (to @PixelationToday). Will also do a small announcement about it soon. We intend to be more active on Twitter, featuring news about activities and cool threads/art. And what I'm most excited about is, we want to do activities on a regular basis for the Twitter banner. Basically collaborations to create a cool banner. I'm guessing with a certain theme and fitting restrictions, but we'll figure that out later. Any ideas in regards to that are welcome.

Ads aren't gonna happen. If you want to host activities with prizes, feel free to do so. I suppose you can also contact me or somebody else from the mod team if you'd like to discuss making it an official thing.

Please set your goals first :P Do you want to promote Pixelation, or make it more attractive to the users who are already here? I feel like the latter should come first, in any case. This sometimes isn't as easy, since we all also lead normal lives and time is expensive, as you all know. If you have any activity ideas or want to jump right into starting any, I'd say go ahead. If it's cool and you're okay with it, we can make it official. Do consider that we also (sometimes) have plans of our own ;)

Upload it elsewhere, preferably imgur. photobucket doesn't work well if you need direct image links.

Breath of Fire 4.
While BoF3 was absolutely professional, and a playable cartoon; BoF4 was a work of art. The colors used in the desert areas at the beginning, the sprites, the amount of motion and life each character had, the mix between hand painted and seeming tilemap work on the pseudo 3d maps (desert cliffs), the pixel art textures used in the full 3d areas. Excellence in pixel art that used very simple 3d effects almost seamlessly with the 2d.

Please add some images :-\
