My apologies to everyone for not having a finished entry :sry:
In short, I miscaculated the date and thought I´d have the last weekend as well, which led me to slack a lil bit too much (I´ve been doing other pixel work in this time, as you may know). Two days before the deadline, I realized I had a lot less time than I expected. On Thursday I received the news that a very dear member of my family had died. All this combined, plus school, led to this. As you see, luck is on my side :( Again, I beg for forgiveness, since this was mostly my fault.

one thing i find slightly unfair is how filax failed to complete the challenge yet still continues to the next round.  The challenge was to make an alien world/map - not 2 tiles on a colored canvas.  Nothing personal, filax, but i think GNdestroyer should go through instead (as he - in my eyes - was the best runner-up).

anyways, i'm not a judge.  Just saying.
Yes, I understand this. If the judges find it best they may give my place anyone else they find worthy of going through (though not necessarily GND).

Ok, I just took the easy way out of this trouble. The hair could probably use some more size adjustments, but I'll leave it as it is. I'm having headaches for working too much on this :-X

Helm: Actually, even though it reminded me of an alien-like creature at first, your edit was quite helpful in the sense that it made me see how bad mine was. Hopefully, it should all be better now...Thanks!

Everyone seems to prefer this set of colours, so I think I'll stick with them from now on.

Ptoing and Faktablad: I hope that forehead thing (that everybody's been mentioning for so long and I seem to have ignored :-[) is now fixed. Let me know if it is not...

Skurwy: Thanks! Looks like you've convinced me on the palette issue ;)
About customizing the palette...it seems I'd have to give up the dark grey if I wanted another colour...or did I misread it?

mccow: Really? I was this was already good enough :(

Is this better, guys? I didn't mess much with the nose, I think it's fine as it is :)

EDIT:

I believe I'm done with this. About the palette, I'm not quite sure...thoughts?

Skurwy: Thanks! Well, I also like the high-intensity CGA#2 variant alot but, for some reason, I don't feel like it goes well with Virginia Woolf...I guess this is something I'll end up deciding just before I finish the piece, I must give it some thought.
I only read "Mrs.Dalloway" (translated too :( ) because it is the only book from her I was able to find in my parents collection. Besides, I'm too caught in Henry James and spending too much money on Cocorosie and Au Revoir Simone CD's at the moment to look for more stuff by her. Nevertheless, I found it extremely interesting, even if a little hard to understand in parts (I'm not very bright though, so that might be just me). Her mind is a bit disturbing too :sry:

EDIT:

I hope this thread isn't drifting into...forgetness?

Thank you for the crits! I adjusted the forehead a bit, tell me what you think about, but didn't move the eyes upwards because I had them like that before and didn't look correct. I tried to fix their angle though.

On a sidenote, which palette should I use?

.WIP.

I was bored of trying isometric stuff for Pixelator so I started this for fun. So, following Skurwy and Lackey, here's Virginia.

Another question: The palette must be the same on the entire image (and we can only change four colours of that global palette) or do we have a palette per tile, therefore enabling us to change four coulours in one tile and four different ones in another?

Apart from the fact that I never did any Isometric work, I believe that what'll screw me is the preset pallete. I just don't like it. If only I could change six or seven colours...

Oh yeah, and I'm against PKMays. I'm so screwed.

I referenced from another book, whose cover appears to be a close-up of that one.

Editing it now wouldn't be quite OK.
Why is that?
