Pixel Art / First slime WIP (Animated! badly...)
« on: March 29, 2012, 07:47:59 pm »
Hey! I have been interested in looking at, and reading about, pixel art but I never really try to make any myself. To make a change to this, I decided to do that most people do; make a slime! It's very WIP and I tried and animation, but probably not sucessfully!

I would love C&C as well as compliments ;)

(looking at the big view, I notice I completely mucked up the highlights. I will edit that later when I have more C&C, so then I have a few things to pixel to keep me occupied ;D)

Pixel Art / [WIP] Wasteland Tileset (32x)
« on: December 27, 2011, 01:42:36 pm »
I have recently started to delve into pixel art, making odd bits and bob as I go along, but today (27/12/2011) I decided to try and make a tileset. I have no knowledge of how to set it out, or how many tiles I am meant to have, so   any tips for that would be great.

This tileset is for a game, that takes place 1000years (subject to change) after a chemical gas was released, that killed all life on Earth (apart from bacteria). Plants have just started to grow back and intelligent life has started to build settlements.

As for the art itself, it only uses 13 colours over all the tiles so far and its some of my first 32x work. My main worries are readability and the water tile so I would LOVE tons of C&C on that.

Tileset so far:

Thanks :3

Pixel Art / C+C on swords
« on: November 06, 2011, 01:16:11 pm »
Hey, I have just started pixel-ling items, and I have made two 32x swords so far. What needs added and what needs to be taken away?

The first is meant to be very decorative and elegant (and made of diamond):

the second is meant to be Semi-Steampunk:

Any edits are welcome! :3

Pixel Art / [WIP] Minecraft texture pack tileset
« on: September 25, 2011, 10:42:12 am »
Hello, I know may people consider minecraft tilesets not to be proper pixel art, but I decided I wanted to post some of my 16x16 textures to get CC on.

They are all handmade without using the noise tool. Each texture has it's respective colour pallet on the right hand side of it (just so it's easy to see). I am going for a slightly cartoony, although still realistic, pack.

wooden planks:

cobblestone (although I decided to make it into large stone bricks):

wooden log (with a knot):

wooden log without a knot:

Thanks for looking :3
