I just saw Babel last night. It was so full of misery. I actually cried during the parts towards the end. I seriously haven't done that in awhile. Good movie, yes, but too many bad decisions being made in one film. It's worse than reality, for me at least. :-I

I would think it "pays hommage" (if that's the right phrace to use) to all the below B horror and action movies that have been released in decades past especially the 60s or 70s. *shrug Just my opinon...

It sounds like some of you guys didn't get to see Pan's Labyrinth; REMEDY THIS FACT IMMEDIATELY.  This movie is beautiful, powerful, disgusting, and extremely intense!
I saw it the moment it was released to theatres. I agree with every point you made and I'll reiterate mine: very original. It's not based on a book nor a comic but straight out Guillermo Del Torro's imaginitive head with a few exceptions of course. (ie Pan)

Ahh yes you're right about that. *shrug Well language aside, I think it'd be cool to do if anyone would pixel the characters.

Ooh I missed this updated. You've applied atmospheric depth quite well. Good job! Keep it coming!

Shouldn't it be in chinese kanji instead of japanese? Why? Because Bruce is well...Chinese. :-} Nevermind...Japanese kanji was taken from Chinese characters but we should be using the chinese language instead of nihongo.

TOO many remakes lately. Originilality is hard to find these days in Hollywood. Independent or foreign movies are where it's at. Seriously, has anyone seen Pan's Labyrinth? I know some of the creatures were taken from previous myths but it's still pretty original. *shrug

I visited Rotten Tomatoes and saw they had 100 worst reviewed movies and found that a majority of them came out after 2000. It would appear the quality of films is going down lately...

khorin - do you mean the one attached to the Band of Brothers films?  that is a good one.

Attached to Band of Brothers? This: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Why_We_Fight_(2005_film) ?
I have the whole series and I didn't see anything about the one I linked. Maybe it's just a different one with the same name. I don't like giving synopsis so I'll just let the almighty wiki do the talking. heh

Below is the reference picture I'm using:

As you can see, the shadows are less dramatic than the one snake has used. I think dithering would work better for this piece should I use the original reference but if I use the one that mangust posted then snake's technique would be perfect. I totally understand all your points about facial features but this reference picture doesn't show so much like the other one but I will scale it down a bit. The mouth has always been bothering me and it still does. Snake, your edit is awesome and very helpful  :y:. Thanks everyone for the tips!

What's even more weird are the people in the movie theatre who are laughing at scenes of gore. What's wrong with you people?!?! Plus, there was a little kid in the theatre...  :n:
