Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Starting From Step One

Much more readable, though not as dynamic as the silver and black.  It still has a few spots where the lines look wobbly, mostly the left side ad the top.

The buildings aren't reading as well as they did before.  I'd make the holes and the wall you can see through the windows much darker than the rest of the building's shade.

Learning what made other people's work great does not mean you have to make the same thing, or be the same type of artist.  It just means you learned something.  I like being different too, but I also think that you should know the rules before you break them, or you just end up being sloppy and using originality as an excuse.  I'm not saying that you're doing that here.  Just that you should really listen to the advice you're getting before you dismiss it.  Maybe even give it a try.  When it comes to art, learning another's style can only make your personal style better.

Just curious, but why are you doing this as a pixel art?  It looks like you took a small section of a photograph and jpged it.  Doesn't that defeat the purpose of doing it pixel by pixel in the first place?

I thought this was unfinished at first, because most of the sky is coverd with clouds, but the left corner is abruptly blank.  This is an amazing piece, I really love the details.

It looks like his torso is pointed slightly toward the camera, while his legs are completely left.  It looks a little awkward.

Excellent edit, thank you very much.  You're right, the shoulders do move too much, that was probably what was bothering me.  I'll get right to fixing it.

[Edit]  All done with the fix.  I'm not sure why you took out the passing frame for only one side.  If it was to show that I didn't need it at all, that's partially true.  I don't need it for the downward walk, but I need it for the side to side walk, and I'll want these cycles to match.

Pixel Art / My first walk animation [Nudity warning]

This is the first walk animation I've ever done.  I'll be using it as a base for girls in an adventure game.  Any suggestions?

It looks fantastic, I love the clouds too.  My only suggestion for motivation is don't do the stuff you hate all at once, or you'll end up hating the whole thing.  If I were the one working on this, I'd have gotten really bored with line art.  Color is a big motivator for me, so for each section of line art I got done, I'd let myself color it as a reward.

Unless he's got wheels on his feet, you'll want to make his feet lift off the ground as he walks.  Right now he's sliding.
