He's saying the animation seems very slow, like each frame takes a while before it goes into the next. I think it's alright when we are viewing the frames and making sure each animation flows into the next with accuracy.

The two tone definitely looks way better I think you're ready to print man.

Artists in general, and 3D modelers especially, seem to love teapots. Why is this? Is there any reason to draw a thousand teapots, instead of a thousand blenders? Or is this just an industry joke/tradition, like "Hello, world!" for programmers?

Honestly that sounds about right. Another thing to think about is that teapots generally have a lot of curves and are nice with light, so it's more about the complexity of 3D depth without having too much anatomy to work off of.

Plus, everyone has a teapot.

Danbooru-san? Are you a Yotsubato fan, by any chance?
I like the animation. Fluid and cute. =)
I actually like your first draft more than your second. It looks like he's shaking his head "no" in the new one to me.

Yeah, that's actually where I got the concept for him from X3

In the second one there are less frames and even less head turn frames. Everything is quicker so it's more like less detailed walk. It's being fixed though, Dusty actually did a nice edit and I will probably base the walking animation off of it, if not use it with some slight tweaks. He did a great job in making the walk cycle more dramatic and animated, which fits the character a lot better than what I originally had in mind. It also fits in with the platforming aspect that would be involved in the game. (Thinking Mario like platforming)

Very nice, it's a bit hard to read the texture on the tree though. (Could be my eyes) Creating a larger gap between shades would help. Another thing to think about is the white pixels in between the leaves in the trees. When I was using a program for game design, I was unable to make a background transparent until I put it into the game, then I had to remove each and everyone of those pixels between the tree leaves. It looks completely amazing though, so if you want to keep that look, don't forget that you might have to do some extra work. (Unless it's already transparent.)

You could also be like me. Someone who does Art and coding. I eventually had music as my major prior to college, so that's how I learned to produce music and sound effects. Then I wanted to be an English major so I learned how to write stories and essays. Sometime in the 90's I wanted to make pokemon games so I picked up some pixel art. (Took me about 6 years before I got to what I'm making now, and even then it's not that good X3) Granted I didn't work specifically in pixel art for 6 years. It's more like a combined total of a month or two. Now that I'm enrolled in college I'm able to learn programming, so I've kind of got this whole jack of all trades thing going on....But I need someone to do my legal stuff/teach me about taxes, so I often ask st0ven questions.

Like everyone said though, you can also use place holders until you're ready to sell the game. Realistically you can hire someone to do your pixel art at any stage of development. (Except past concept-art...maybe...idk...something...sounds...bananas?) Though I would say pixel art takes WAY more time than 3D art. So if you've already got your project planned, and you decide to use placeholders, just make sure you give the pixel artist a lot of time to work on his or her art.

Yeah it looks like he's going through the ground, because of the bouncing and that the feet never leave the ground.
It's like he's walking behind an a short wall and the bottom part of his legs/feet are hidden behind it.

example:

It doesn't look like he's walking on top of the wall.

Yeah, I was thinking about placing some 2-3 pixel high grass in the foreground, but I don't want to spam the foreground. It would be a simple fix for the feet, but fixing the feet now would be a lot easier.

@Pype: I see what you're saying about the passing frames, but I think I'm going to use this as sort of a leisurely walk and I kind of want to make him look goofy and adorable when walking. Anti-physics is the best way to look goofy I would say :P You should see what I've got planned for his run state lol. I'm just glad I got some of the walking done, I was in a statistics class and trying to think how I would move, but I couldn't just get up and work it through physically lmao.

Second Draft:

Feet come off the ground and the body matches with how a normal person would walk. (A lot less fluid as well as quicker)

That is good point but Im not going to use these adjustment for other places.. I want those for only 1 place.

Then you would need more than just different saturation adjustments. You need some trees that are more brown, some trees that are more yellow and some trees that are more red. (Adjusting the levels would look silly.) It's all in the leaves. Also the grass looks a little too lively. It's autumn, so there should be leaves on the ground.

Did a bit of work on a 2D Puzzle Platformer and I did the first rough draft walk cycle, which is:

There are a couple of problems with the animation, one thing I can see is the feet never leave the ground...

Oh god...that is like the only time I use the forums....I'm going to be bored out of my mind....c: What kind of hosting stuff are you doing? I'm currently enrolled in a networking class and my curiosity has been peaked.
