Pixel Art / Re: Main character walk animation

It is a bit fast for a walk! Why do you give the main character a walk and not a run?

The leg movement is really good!

I think the body movement could be larger! Like now it stays perfectly horizontal, but shoulders and hips should move up and down separate from each other!

Also, the amount of texture that you've chose doesn't make it ideal for animation..  :(

How can I rearrange colors on the palette? By dragging them around on the palette the indexes don't move with them so my image ends up different..

EDIT:
A: Shift + click & drag

It depends a bit what you want to go for... If you want to get the spooky cave mood, definitely go for the purple one!
The rock texture seems a bit random. How about trying to actually create tiny undetailed rocks, rather than just blobs of colors!

Good work so far!

The face is a tad too bright for my taste

The horns in the picture look a bit boring to me.. I am sure you can make them more epic in the pixel version!

The name has always confused me. I think of a sub-pixel as a component of a pixel, so the red, the green or the blue diode.. But subpixel animation has nothing to do with that!

Why don't we call it 'wave animation', since one color flows from one pixel to the next one  ::)

If you want to smooth it out even more, try to alternate the movements! Like, double the amount of frames, and then: have one frame to move the arm, the next frame move the head, and so forth. I think that could really help this tiny sprite :)

Foxes are like arrows when running, they shoot away. It is a very dynamic movement that is hard to capture...

Study some reference videos, then start by making the wave from the shoulders to the hips, and then redo the legs... It is a lot of work, but the effect is worth it!

The sun doesn't look connected to her hair anymore, which is good!

However, the character would stand out much more if it had some space around it, the sun is in the same color as herself so she disappears a bit in the background...

Are the eye styles intentionally different?  Is the left character supposed to be a boy/girl/undefined?

Hands are hard, but doable, look up some reference images and some pixel images, and try to create some better ones perhaps :)
