The pixel does have some hue shift.

Lovely shading on the pixel. Your work never ceases to amaze and / or inspire me. However, the tongue has a weird pointy part at the end ... it seems it would benefit from being smoothened out.

No, the actual left [its left] eyeball should look slightly smaller than the one on the right [its right]. As it is now, it looks a tad larger.

Just trying something ... different.

Mm, thanks, I didn't even think about that stray green rectangle.

Added the AA to that.
However, the harshness of the low contrast + the high contrast is what I like about this piece. If I darkened it and added more contrast, it just wouldn't be the same!
However #2, I added a little bit of contrast, just for you, and here it be:

as well as the harsh contrasts...
I don't mind harsh contrast, just as long as it's consistent.

Yay for obscure and ugly colours.

nice style. the bauble thingo is inconsistent with the rest of the image... why did you dither it?
I'm guessing it was for the texture.
But the dithering does, in fact, look inconsistent, and out of perspective. The tail of the hat looks to be draping behind it, yet the ball at the end is nearly beside its feet.

I personally like the one with the whackier colours. And yeah, the face does look a little pillow shaded, but not to a really bad extent.

If you keep the mountains flat, I would suggest a different colour that would blend it into the background more. Like, a dark blue or purple.
With the "sparkles" around his hand, adding some varying shades would enhance the effect. If you want to conserve colours, use some of the colours you used for the stars.
And maybe lighten up the second shade of blue a little bit.

Looks pretty good, though the colors couldn't be any more saturated if they wanted to be.
Yes they could. The saturation on this piece isn't bad at all.
This is how it would look if it were totally saturated:
Just because it's pixel art doesn't mean it has to have low saturation and softness to it.

However, I do have some crits.
-It does look rather pillow shaded. I would recommend playing around with the light source.
-The darkest two shades of red need more contrast between each other. Try making the middle red a tad lighter and the dark red a tad darker.
-The dark lines on the face (mouth, eyes) look really harsh. Maybe lighten the colour a bit or get rid of them.
