Definitely an improvement. The movements look more precise and sensible now as well. Maybe you could also try keeping the legs still?

I think the new jump is much easier to read, and I really like the animations and colour use.
The idle, I think, is moving too fast and too much. It's hard to make subtle movements with such a small sprite, but unless you want him to be heavily panting the whole time, I would suggest trying to tone it down a little bit.

Gil wins. Cartooniness wise, idle stance wise, armor wise ... Megaman makes a better comparison.
Do you have the "steam-powered evidence" drawn up yet? I think that'll add some individuality to the character.

Thanks for the crits, guys. I don't think I could be arsed into going back and fixing these bad boys up, but I'm thinking of trying to actually take some time on a new piece and applying some proper technique. Haha.

Haha, very nice. However, the AA seems to be a bit ... harsh? It seems that there's either too much or not enough contrast between the AA and the outlining colour in most places.
Also, on the insides of the ears, the purple highlights are on the wrong side.
