while i may go back and edit the old ones at some time, currently im just trying to focus on the newer ones


first version of the alpha is done

messing around with the gamma's shell, lot of surface to work with, lots of experimenting i can do

and an egg, or two
ones got an under coating of slime as well as the stringy bits

i dont like my cocoon though

a glowy magic looking bit that really screams "spells and magic and stuff"?
like a gem in the staff head, or an aura, or glowy eyes or markings...

glyphs?

basically anything magic/glowing

right now you could remove the staff and no one could question it, the character itself doesnt entirely have that magical feel to it
but as we mostly just see the cape, that'll be difficult, s'why you need the magic glowing awesomeness, yo

also if you resize your reference to 25% it'll be about the size you were going for so you can keep them nice and close to get the basic shape

giving it a bit of texture wouldnt hurt, losing the shirt would be a good idea
it looks a bit like its leaning forward

and the readability isnt the greatest, tho thats probably the fact that it is dark and the backdrop is so bright...

edit to point you in a direction

tho my back fur is kinda eh...

started messing with some leg bits for walking
also messed with the slime, still trying to get it right to fit the character

after i get more legs i'll stick together an animation of just the legs
then i'll get the body fitting it, then the arms

It definitly looks cooler.

Btw. how did you do the new rock texture? Looks rather complex.

thanks, and it was mostly just me making spots randomly then making it a bit grittier and just refining it a lot

I think the new dirt looks way to realistic, and doesn't really it the theme established by the new character

still toying with it to fit him more

Don't get stuck with one little dirt tile go on and get back to it later on if you aren't happy with it.

yeah, imma leave it for now for the walk cycle and actually try to get the slime fitting the new style, too

well the rest of the sprites have to be redone to fit the character anyway

also messed with the grass, cant decide which
and started messing with the slime to better fit the character, its not going as well as i'd like
