Agh I hope it fits the style okay. Might make more of these soon. Use it for whatever you'd like.  :y:

Make sure the buildings are affected by the light source. There should at least be some rim lighting.

Did a quick edit, you really want to try and stick with the light source you use. I really like how you did the hands here, try to do the feet in a similar fashion, use foreshortening. I tried to fix the face up and make the pan look more believable of a metal by making it grayer and giving it a higher contrast. Keep up the good work! Hope this helps!

Looking pretty decent, but I think there's a few major things that could be fixed:
• Not really specific to this, but you really shouldn't reference from pictures like that. It's okay to reference anatomical diagrams, or really good art, but not a mediocre vector piece with fairly poor stylizing. Always try your best to work from life/photos, grab some pictures of cats, and grab some reference of poses similar to what you want.
• The rules of drawing still apply, so remember to do some drawing studies of still life, of people, etc. This is just another general advice thing, and you may already do this but I figured I would throw it out there.
• It seems like you're thinking of things too two-dimensionally. You need to think about the form, lines are usually just an indication of either form, or a separation of two things i.e. negative/positive space. Your rendering/shading reflects what you're thinking about, which brings me to my next point....
• Think about where light is hitting, and how it affects the object. You're pillow-shading, and you're adding random speculars which make no sense. Fur wouldn't reflect like that, it's not that shiny, neither would a cotton/wool shirt. You need to think about shadows, and how the form turns away and towards the light.
• Her waist is a bit too skinny, her neck is a bit long, and her head is being cut off from her body. I've done some edits so you can see how I've attempted to correct these issues.

Pixel Art Feature Chest / Re: Grass Attempt

Let's be for real here:
There's no contrast so it just looks like a block of green (unless you zoom in, even then)
You've chosen to render the grass in V/U shapes; I assume these are meant to be tiles so it doesn't blend in well, and besides the green it doesn't remind me of grass

You should go look up some tiles from various SNES/GBA games, particularly RPGs like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Legend of Zelda, etc. to get a better idea of how they tackled pixelling grass. Also look at how grass is in real life, pay attention to how light affects it, etc. I think the former would be better for you at the moment, though.

You seem new to pixel art so here's some tutorials:

The way you've rendered (shaded) is very pillow-shadeyish; I can't imagine a worse place this could be, but on something like rocks. The light source is wacky, no definite light source. The black outlines around everything make it look flat; this doesn't help with atmosphere either, it looks very cartoon-esque. I do not think you should have a white background (especially with the shadow being brown, and not a gray). It's got potential, and I have a few pointers I think might help out:
* Think of the rocks as shapes, very boxy, having definite edges; define your planes with line in the initial sketch before rendering
* Define your light source, make sure to stick with it! I suggest sticking to one
* Use reference! Look at how life itself handles everything (and perhaps a good pixel artist, one that is very technical). I think it would greatly help you to do so.

I hope I've been able to help you out. Good luck with your piece!

That blue for reflected light isn't really working man. Looked better without it, not sure if the reflective properties of skin would be that severe either. Unless it was really wet, and was under very certain lighting conditions.... I'm pretty sure that shirt would need to be made from different material too.

The anatomy is really weird, torso isn't wide enough (especially at top) also looks a little too lengthy, legs look weird (especially at shorts). Keep at it though, man. Did you use reference?

You really need to learn basic perspective; pick up a book on it.
