I'll offer a few points, they look a bit 'flat' and bland as is. Try giving them some additional contrast and vary the hue the lighter each shade in the respective sprite gets. Like with the pear, in the original painting, you see it goes from a deep, cold blue-ish color to a light and warm yellow like color. Also, you ought to make the lower part seem more squashed down. As per the cherries, you ought to make the shadows almost black-like, shifting up to a small gray, red, then to a soft but light pink. Try it.

First of all, sorry for the amount of threads and projects I never finished. (Largely loss of attention. I blame it on a syndrome I have but regardless.)
Right now I'm working on a mech that's greatly inspired by the Metal Slug series (Can't wait to play it.), directly down to using a sprite's pallete (I'm sorry.) for it. I got nice results, however, I want your opinion what else I could do with it or what I should fix on, I originally intended it to be a sort of walker mech, but I never got the legs to look right so I made it into a sort of floater mech. However, the cockpit is largely not how I imagined it but it should do atleast.

If all goes to worst, I might have to redesign it. Which troubles me, making detail on the metal is rather difficult, so it won't look plain. (Which is one part I hate.)

This was an argument about ripping and the trees, which Jericho confessed she never ripped. The whole thing was about many parts being way too close for comfort, in style, possibly pallete, structure and look, to Minish Cap.

Sorry, too many colors for one section now. Contrast as in making the individual shades (As far as I would understand by his request) more visible to distinguish without zooming.

With the first image, you ought to define some folds and/or shift the soldier's hat down some. With that, you ought to do something with his left (our right.) arm, since it looks like it has no bones, and usually human arms don't reach that far down. Raise it a little bit after you fixed the problem with his skeletal anatomy.

I think, just my general opinion, is that it starts as normal, 3d road, than a depth-less 2d section, and an equally depth-lessbackground.

Pretty nice. The cannon has that sort of 'Metal Slug' animation thing going on, kinda like it. Although I don't think I want you to change your style, it looks a bit bland due to no variant in hue. But it's still nice though. Some better shading would be alright.

Yeah, it looks a bit like tentacles rising out and whacking something. Maybe try to follow the build of your previous 'vertihoriz' (:P) waves attempt, since this attempt looks a bit empty and how the waves rise.

Generally the position of your whole character. I have not finished the head due to my lower skills in that area. I noticed now that I have misplaced his left foot a bit. Ah well. =/

Actually, given some thought, his spine does make sense. The blue line however depicts it somewhat wrong. It would look awkward however, since the part of the tail on the right seems to be lower. It should be a bit higher, otherwise.. It's fine.
