Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Leonardo (Mirage-style)

What bothers me is how his pecs, furthest from our vision, seem to have that very noticable spec of light at the edges before the closest pecs start, should be a bit darker, in my opinion.

Otherwise, it's very nice. ^^

Pixel Art / [WIP] Several projects.
« on: January 13, 2007, 06:56:42 pm »

My other work, I decided to try out how much I know and could do on 2d backgrounds/foregrounds. The ground inspiration (with the rocks and all) came from a website. I can't really remember which. Had some Ogre pixel art on it.. The two statues there were just something I was toying around with, they're not ACTUAL part of the tileset though.

One of my projects, although I'm nearing completion, I decided to showcase one of my works (The others aren't on the level of you guys. ^_^; ) here for the first time ever. You guys are pretty damn awesome, and since you are experienced enough, you could criticise or comment on this work, and/or give suggestions what I could add to it. (I'll edit it when I get to it, 'k? Oo; )

The reference pic is this one, and I got permission from the artist to show it:

The picture is a bit big so I don't think I'll post it in IMG tags.

The graphics are pretty gorgeous and look wonderfull, however, a very tiny nitpick, is about the annoying black edges around the graphics on screenshot num. 1. Otherwise, everything is just awesome.

Although he is very good, that statement is just too farfetched to think about.

General Discussion / Re: Doll Poll
« on: December 26, 2006, 07:10:15 pm »
Myself, I never did feel too fond of 'Sprite Dolls' after a while, while it is an easy and somewhat practical method to test out designs and skills, I overall wouldn't really recommend it. I would in honesty prefer to do everything alone, by scratch and the likes, but while making the doll bases themselves takes effort, I wouldn't say I hate the authors or the doll-editors at all. They're trying to be good and that's alright in my opinion.

To make the tiling less noticable ofcourse, and use vibrant colors, all I could think of that could benefit the tiles.

Perfect  pink! I can't believe my eyes...this is so beautiful! I got no crits at all, but how did you rotate it?

Well, he did say it was a 3d model, so it's not very hard to turn one around, really.

They are still too far apart, put them together so it seems, to you, like it's a box with a line in the middle.

Not bad, but put the legs together, he looks like he is about to trip, like he's skating on ice. Make his legs seem less like a whole circle, but I guess that comes when you actually fill in the colors.
