I think I know how you feel. Two of my grandparents passed away last fall (one was expected -- he had had a few strokes, the other was a major shock), and even though I didn't really know them very well, it was tough.

Hey Pixelation, it's been a while! A few other students and I have been making a game over the last year or so, and it's a finalist in the new College Game Competition at E3. I don't think I need to explain how simultaneously awesome and terrifying that is. Anyway, I have come to request people willing to do some testing! Just shoot me a PM and I can send you the download link for either Mac or PC.

Edit: Dude, Carnivac, I didn't see your post before I posted here, I guess I have terrible timing. My condolences to you and the rest of your family.

(Post moved to OT-creativity thread.)

Wow. Dude. Your stuff always completely blows my mind. Everything looks gorgeous! Do you mind if I ask what your process is for creating these ships? How long does it take you to make one?

Just as a side-note, if you're looking to preserve relations with this artist, stop what you're doing! It's hard for me to think of something I hate more than someone trying to hijack my art and do it "the easy way." Either negotiate with the artist for more frames, hire someone else to make more, or really, anything but this. It's going to look terrible. Low frame rates would be much better than stretching pixels and all the nastiness that you're going to incur here.

I'm not sure why you keep changing the color of these mountains. That second version was spot on, and it's only going downhill from there. Why did you change it? The third is obviously too light, and the fourth is too similar to the closer mountains. That second one was pretty much the sweet spot, and I thought it looked good.

I noticed that it's been a few days and you haven't gotten any replies. I assure you it's not any lack of quality. These are looking really cool! I've always liked this sort of style, ala Ultima 7. I think my biggest suggestion for you is to work on the lighting a bit and tighten up the pixel work a little. I did a quick edit of your animal head mounted on the wall to add a bit more sculpting and detail.

If you want more comments, I'd also suggest you explain a bit more about this project: what it's for, what you're trying to do, so on.

I think the small sliver of a crenelation is kind of throwing the composition and the rhythm of the piece. I'd either crop it out entirely, or expand the canvas size to include more of it.

I think the reason it looks like it's facing us is because the little round rocks on the walking surface are about as wide as they are tall. At an angle like that they'd probably be wider than they were tall, by quite a bit.
