Archived Activities / Re: Pixelator: Snake!

Both entries are awesome, but I like snake's the best. I think he had a hard time blending all the stuff together, since in the round of the skies snake made something too complex, without any advice that it would be used in the final round.

Anyways, if there is to be another contest, I would like to suggest to raise the number of participants, because I bet alot of people would have liked to enter this contest (including myself).

It's a shame that even in the second round, some persons couldn't finish it in time, now that you bring that up.

General Discussion / Color restricted palettes? (help)
« on: February 08, 2007, 12:06:16 am »
Hi there

Just wanted to know something I've been wondering for some time now. Here's the deal : I want to do a piece with color restrictions, with one of those famous palettes I see mentioned everywhere, but I don't know what is the software that has them.

For example, I've seen pieces with "c64 multicolor mode" , "EGA" , "c64 grayscale" , "c64 high res" , etc, color restricted palettes, and I would like to do a pixel art with these, but I dont know what is the software that has them, again.

Thanks in advance!.

Pixel Art / Re: -Emerald dragon boss- need some CC plz

I personally thought the yellow on the claws made him look more magical, but seems like not  :sry: . I will try to add the highlights again, and fix his neck. It's almost finished I guess...

Progress:

EDIT> the eye still has light blue and yellow, should I change it?

Pixel Art / Re: Kobold.

Actually kobolds are similar to what a dwarf is, in german mythology, and they're often associated with rats because of their behaviour, or way of living.
I'd illuminate a little bit more of his belly, and soften up some of the lighting at the helmet. I think with the colors you got there it is possible to soften the whole piece a little bit if you get what I mean (like, AA certain areas inside the sprite).

You must remember there is a pallette change, and that the right areas still aren't painted with the darker colors used by helm. It's in progress, but if it's not what I just pointed, explain yourelf.

Toned down claws, fixed wings (his right wing is in the works) and generally just painted more areas...

EDIT: If it's not much trouble, I would like some advice regarding the muscles of the legs, and if they need any change.
