Ooo, very purty. I also like the background solar cloud/debris thingys. However, on the last upgrade, it kind of looks like it's facing backwards, and the middle bullets are too close to read as seperate entities. I think, with the colour things, you should make the different colours different weapon types (kinda like in Demonstar, I think)

Maybe not the greatest example, as I was very inexperienced when I posted some of my edits, but this thread might help: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=3249.0

Not the most difficult of pieces, but a time-consuming one, as I had to draw, ink, scan, and mod it before it was done. I'm thinking of using it as the logo for my platform/(mmo?)rpg project.

Nice pixel! However, the head doesn't really seem to 'pop', and around his mouth, probably due to the similar colours used for both the teeth and the rest of the bone, they blend a little. Also... the shading at the top of the skull makes it seem a little flat. I'm not sure, but maybe shading that the same as the rest of the face would improve it? Other than that, it's rather good.

General Discussion / Re: Pixelling on your DS
« on: June 24, 2007, 01:39:37 pm »
This is something else entirely but... There's an interesting DS game coming out called Drawn to Life where you pixel in your character and it slaps it onto a 3D cubethingy, turning it into a playable hero for an RPG.

I was just playing on the flash demo. Made Batman and some limbless creature too. I'm not sure how intricate and accurate the actual application will be... we shall see. For one, I hope there's a tool that lets you move around the screen when you're zoomed in all the way (or I'm just missing it). It's still neat that someone finally did this.

Ugh, I tried that thing online, it's completely ridiculous  :( I wouldn't consider that game a pixel art program at all of course, because you just have to draw your character; the rest of the game plays like an adventure game.

It would be more fun if they placed a grid, I kep on missing my target.:<

Of course, it might be different with an actual DS.

This could be entertaining, and if smooveDS is good, it might actually be a reason for me to buy a DS.

Actually... I'm toying with the idea of being able to solve puzzles with drawings and drawing your own weapons and armour... Which would make it totally AWESOME! Please, Nintendo, please think of that...

Man, Grave of the Fireflies. I seen it and it totally destroyed me. Most evil antiwarfilm ever. VERY powerful stuff. Only saw it once.
Maybe I will watch it again when I feel entirely too happy sometime. :'(

Mmmm... Ditto! I still can't bring myself to watch it again. It's not by Ghibli, however.

I like Whisper of the Heart and The Cat Returns...

Dragons might be fantasy creatures, and thus have no correct way of drawing, but I suggest that you show the fire coming up or something like that. You could show it through his/her belly growing larger and the 'lump' getting closer to its nose before it actually breathes fire. Also: That reflection on the stomach is very, well, flickery. Maybe make it smoother in coming?
