Heh. As I said the project is cancelled, but I always like to respond when people say stuff. You should be thanking me for taking the time to respond, not sniping at me for chatting!
As a small status update: I forgot about the drawing yesterday. Maybe today...

EDIT: Since when are members supposed to try to moderate the forums?!?

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Moon cityscape
« on: March 18, 2011, 04:29:34 pm »
what I don't like about the moon is that it is being shown with the city lights and the colors are similar.  By making them similar colors you make the moon part of the city.  It should have an entirely different color to make it seem different.  I am not sure what color would be good but maybe something like greenish white or blue.  Or just keep it orange.

A blue moon? What the...?

Seems that there aren't that many if any programs for this. Maybe some talented programmer and pixel artist will make one someday, you could have a event where two people from the forums would have to collaborate, not knowing each other's forum names, kind of like the Secret Santa thing I saw on the other forum. There could be a predefined subject, et cetera. I'm certainly not going to try to create a program for networked pixel art real-time collaboration, I don't want to mess with networking code at this time (besides not feeling like taking a bunch of time to do something that I am not that interested in doing).

General Discussion / Re: Goblins Of The Game Industry

I'm personally a pretty good programmer, I'm learning pixel art and I think I could make some pretty good music and sfx if I tried, so yes, I might be able to make a game all by myself.

Then do it. Not that it hasn't already been done.

I'm thinking about it! ;D I had a idea for a Breakout style game but this probably isn't the right place to put it. I'd like some feedback on the idea though, probably will post somewhere else...

I was just wondering. I don't have a iPod Touch but would like to get one. Someday...

Amazing. Saw them at PAX east and didn't like them. Talked about them with a friend and I think I might be in love.

I have no idea what this is about and would appreciate it if someone would reply to my previous post before going on to discuss new things?

The neck on your version of the sprite is too thin in my opinion. It probably doesn't matter anyway.
What? What? A neck? Where? My sprite doesn't have a neck!

Erm, maybe we should stop trying to snipe at him.  I think he gets the point.  :D

Believe me, after reading all this, I DO.

Everything was very interesting, thank you all for taking the time to respond. I'm sorry if I put you off.

Thinking further, I like yaomon's edit in principle, not just for the shading but for the ball. With my old 32x32 version it looked like he was shooting light/magic/what-have-you at something while facing forward, but that looked a bit strange because he was shooting it off to the side. This makes perfect sense.

Also a great way to deal with these "attacks" is to go out of your way to make a huge improvement on your piece. THAT'LL SHOW THEM!

You're so right, StaticSails! ;D As for improving my piece, I'll probably make a drawing now (on paper, as I don't have a tablet). I might get to scan it in sometime today, depending on when I find my scanner. It might be hard for me to get the anatomy right, but I'll try. Also I'll probably be using a different pose and intent, perhaps something with the wizard holding his light really high to light something, maybe a cavern or a patch of plains, up.

Is there any software that lets two or more people collaborate on a piece of pixel art in real time? as in, one person changes a pixel and it's changed in both places? Preferably it should have a chat system embedded in it. Also a way for each person to have private copies in case the other person does something they don't like to the working copy.

Which is why one should just learn to make music, art and program him/herself.

Unfortunately, most people aren't -that- multi-talented and the project would
take even longer to accomplish. Working on a team can be fun but there are some things
you have to look out for or they could destroy the entire project. You can't let a "jerk" ruin the whole thing
even if they are  a talented jerk.
