Do you love drawing cute/silly things more than anything else?
Are your portfolios so sugary they can make someone hyperactive?

Then we are looking for someone like you to come up with cute/goofy character concepts and to finalize their art for a bullet hell MMO we are developing primarily for Steam.

The position is not full time at the moment, we need a small list of cute-related assets before we release our kickstarter trailer, and you should be able to deliver them by working only 2-3 hours a day on average over the next couple of months. Unity animation experience is preferable, but not required, it is fine if you just deliver us the spritesheets.

To make it clear, we already have 2 full time artists on the project. We are at the moment not looking for someone who can do such assets (as they could themselves), but someone who has a really strong liking to making cute and silly looking stuff, and who naturally likes to browse, retweet and save that kind of work. Someone who lives the cute lifestyle.

If interested, please send an email to contact@lethegames.com with a link to your portfolio or related accounts, with "Cute expert" as the subject.

Below are some sample graphics from our game, and also a sample of the kinds of creatures and humanoid characters you would be creating (concept-wise, their facial features, body shapes and so on...) from existing games.

Example of features/expressions we are looking for from other games:

Job offers / Pixel Artist for 2D Bullet Hell MMO
« on: August 29, 2020, 10:23:42 pm »
We are hiring an artist for a 2D Pixel Art Bullet hell MMORPG.

The position is full time, and we are using Unity/GIT/Discord (experience not required but preferred). You'll be a generalist, mostly creating assets for effects (skills, weapons...), animated characters, icons and interfaces, and possibly doing some tileset work, although we already have another artist focused on that.

About the project:

  • We already have all the art assets required to create a pvp arena demo of the game, which we are working at right now.
  • It is a PvE coop game for open world play, with instanced arenas for PvP.
  • The game design has been developed in full and written down in detail. From now on, it is about testing the game and making sure we are making something fun, and if not, change where necessary.
  • The current team is comprised of 2 programmers, 1 artist and 1 game/content designer.
  • A traditional MMO in some aspects: expansive named zones with points of interest, 14 equipment slots, many customizable skills per character...
  • And not traditional in others: since I started playing MMOs in 99 with everquest, I've always wanted to see a few things done differently in MMOs, and this has been a chance to put those concepts into practice.

If interested, please send an email to contact@lethegames.com with a link to your portfolio or related accounts.

We will give preference to candidates who enjoy one or more of the following genres:

- MMO
- Action RPG
- Bullet Hell/Shoot'em up

EDIT: The position has already been filled.

Lethe Games is looking for an artist to develop a 100% pixel art bullet hell game (unannounced) made for Steam multiplayer.

A major portion of the game design and programming has already been implemented, only needing additional art assets to reach an early access release. The contract is for a minimum of 3 months of full time work, and you may work from your home. You will be solely responsible for the art direction and creation of all assets needed from this point on, while respecting the current art direction of the game.

Payment starts at a minimum of $15/h, and is negotiable to your experience and skill level.

Please email contact@lethegames.com if interested, and provide a link to your porfolio.
