Pixel Art / Re: Just a Two Bit Cowboy

4 color 64x64 pixel doodle using the sepia palette from the Super Gameboy.  C+C appreciated, help me grow as an artist.

Well, it looks good to me, but you might want to make the smoke in a lighter shade, or just throw a gray in there. Also, it needs something to replace the "inside" black areas, like the inside of the hat and somewhere down at the bottom of the poncho. And, why the 2x zoom?

All the colors feel a little... beige. Not in the hue, but in spirit. There's no life to them. I'm not sure how to fix it without going bright neon, but that's something you should look into.
Well the "beige" is the main feeling, if you put neon in it it would lose the whole feeling, in my opinion.

You see a frog? Everything looks normal to me.
Use imgur! It is one of the few host that don't remove ANY pics, and works with al browsers with HTML 5. Also, I second Greger, the palette has way to many shades of wood.

I love the tree, the players and the background are a bit robust, but looking good.

@Sakket: Do you just use an x-acto knife, metal ruler, scissors and some glue sticks? That's all I've got and I've been getting glue all over my fingers. It's a bit of a hassle getting these little guys put together that way. Do I need more nimble finger? My girlfriend seems to have no problem putting these together. She refuses to explain her techniques, maybe you can share yours.

If I was 18 and had a debit crd I would TOTALLY buy one of these, make that the WHOLE darn set.
You just need to go to his blog and print the things up. They're free, he's really that nice of a guy.
FREE?!?! O...M...G... Thats awesome!

General Discussion / Re: Picture Links
« on: April 01, 2011, 01:31:21 pm »
Edit: Hang on. Worked in preview, then seemed to change.  :-[

Edit2: Now I'm curious. This (long url format):
Code: [Select]
[ url =www.google.com][img]http://i.imgur.com/me5uZ.png[/img][/ url ] (remove the spaces before and after url)
works when the post is previewed, but then turns into this
Code: [Select]
[img]http://i.imgur.com/me5uZ.png[/img]

When the post is actually made.

Are picture links removed because of the image scaling? I know I've seen at least one linked image in a signature, though.

Edit 3: Nevermind. Putting a single character before and after the image tags makes the link work. Which... seems odd to me, but I can live with that. That fact that it's possible to get a different actual post than what appears in the preview with the same message text is very strange.

Code: [Select]
[url=http://www.google.com] [img]http://i.imgur.com/me5uZ.png[/img] [/url]gives:

Dude, you're awesome.

General Discussion / Re: The Tile Wizard Software

The way of selecting colors is difficult, if not outraging for ppl who are used to PS. A color wheel might help. And, change the app name to "Tile Wizard" instead of "Wizard"?

Well, time to play noob again  :P I can't seem to find out how to have a link and a picture (when you click on the picture it directs you to a certain webpage)  :mean:. I've tried the normal BBC (BCC?) code and nest the picture in a url, but that didn't work. Help?

Pixel Art / Re: Cavestory inspired tiles

I LOVE it, like love like I love ice cream (And let me tell you, I LOVE ice cream) BUT I don't really see how the tiles fit in with the rocks, they need something like a 'transaction' between them. Also, I think a fore-back round might be cool (but not needed) because I think the bright rock to the dark rock is quiet noticeable.
