Job offers / Re: Experienced 2d Pixel Artist needed!
« on: December 03, 2021, 06:58:02 am »
I meant the person who had made the original post.
I worked with him for about a week, then because he didn't like one design out of many he just blocked me

But oh well, it was only an hour's worth of work he ripped me off on.

This guy never paid me for the last hour I worked last year then ghosted me.
The style of the sprite was really lame too.
Avoid this one.

Job offers / [Paid] Sprite animator needed
« on: December 01, 2021, 12:47:23 pm »
Looking for a pixel artist that can animate sprites well. Below is a sample of the style and animation quality- If you can match the quality shown. Feel free to send me links to your resume via discord:
Lijj#2691
Also let me know what your desired rate is for consideration.
It's a solid job and potentially long-term work. Paid in either Etherium or DAI (stable coin).

The theme is pretty dark/ devilish for marketing purposes; but other than that it's pretty normal. The sprites are pretty large but there will be an assortment of other styles in the near future with some smaller resolution sprites.

We're also looking for mutability in an artist, so keep that in mind.

UPDATE: Looking for a single free-lance artist; not design studios or firms.

Thank you so much Doppleganger, it looks great! And I thought it looked great when I opened it last night; thank you for the update though.

Also Dex, I'm glad I got you to gift to cause I have wanted to pixel the black castle from a dark fantasy book called 'Shadows Linger' for a while now. So you your requests were perfect. Amazing piece you made btw!

Hmm I think I missed it, but if you'll let me slide in last sec; cool! If not, no problem.

I like humanoid figures, interesting palettes, fantasy of all sorts (sci-fi to medieval/ D&D type stuff). I like geography, landscapes, classy architecture, vehicles and other objects as well.

Pretty much anything will fly, except harm to innocents, gore and overly grotesque art (or anything disgusting).

All I ask is you don't be lazy really.
Orangemagick's dislike- I agree w/ 100%

What am I getting myself into? This is dangerously tedious territory:

I don't know how you made so many animations Wolfenoctis.

It's incredible stuff.

Another dissolvable piece (to be forever lost in the ephemerality of fan arts of Celes from FFVI), but I love canary yellow [pants] and practice is practice. In this runic wielding version she dons soft doeskin leather clothing. Could have been better, but I couldn't justify putting too much time in.

A little personal practice, a pin-up of sorts:

General Discussion / Re: Me working as a pixel artist
« on: November 22, 2017, 12:32:36 am »
I would advise you to not actually try to market your pixel art  ..yet., because it's not right to sell a faulty product.

I don't understand the desire for beginners to want to make money right away. I've noticed that here; a lot of portfolios are posted by obvious beginners.

If that is the sole reason you're doing it. I would advise you to get into something more remunerative (study law or work on getting a PHD).

If you like pixel art and you're doing it because it's a hobby then why bother trying to sell it? If you need money get a normal job and try to practice in your free time. Over time if you get good enough to actually benefit a game project it might be worth selling. You said yourself that you're training, so instead of trying to market yourself you could train in other ways. Like get involved in some volunteer pixel work for a game mod or hack; or get involved in some of the collaborations on pixel art sites.

Do whatever you will, not trying to hold you back or anything.  But since you asked I figured I'd give my opinion because this is something that's bothered me before... people being like: "yeay, I made some sprites; I'm now a pro! GSM." Pixel art isn't easy to be good at and takes a lot of practice and subtle understanding.

If you're in it for the money that's kind of lame. Make art because you like making art. Get good at your hobby.. then when there's demand for your skill maybe take some work and call it a trade. But just jumping in it for the money I highly advise you not.
