Yeah, a bit more contrast would help, but the highlight itself don't... how do I put it, it just doesn't say "nose".

The small highlight line does not show the nose well, even if it is anime style. You could use a highlight instead of a shadow, but maybe try showing the top of the bridge of the nose if you want a nose in the picture. I thought you had overlooked it on purpose, so sorry for clashing with your creativity, but do like I said, ignore the nose I did, I was just giving you something to think about.

Wow, that's really funny. Firstly, I had no intention of doing isometric Escher, and secondly, the reflection was at the top of my list. I guess we think a lot alike. Cool.  :P

1. Fixed the black outlines, and touched up some minor details.

2. Ignore the nose, I just was testing what it would look like and it turned out good.

Helm, your very right. It's almost like selective outlining is good, and Selout™ is bad. This is a very interesting topic, I may join in with something by MC Escher.

Good to see a budding pixel artist. Critiques:

1. Too much white space around the bananna, too little extra space around the profile portrait.
2. Think in a realistic sense, use proportions and scale (but don't do lose your style).

3. An idea, maybe dither some of the browns to make a more natural hairline, it's a bit like it's brown matter, but not really hair. See what the others say about the hair, then work on it.
4. Since it's quite small, up the contrast a bit.

There are more so I made a small edit; the white was added to show you what errors the background was keeping you from seeing. I fixed quite a bit, so zoom in and compare:

Other than that, really good start so far for some of your first pieces of art.

Well done Grynz, just a few critiques:

1. The koopa bosses arm seems to be growing out of his chest. ??? Maybe make the shell in front on it.
2. I agree, a few less colors, and be a bit more consistent on the shading and direction the emoticons are looking toward.

3. This one is merely just an idea, try adding a simple grass/sky (or whatever you want) as a background to the hoping bunny, with some type of flower (or clouds) that steadily move to the right, as if he really was hopping somewhere.

Good job, hope to see other works from you in the future.
