Pixel Art / Re: Need help/constrictive feedback on Logo-art
« on: December 07, 2017, 07:05:10 am »
the flatness mainly because the heart has more contrast than the text, so up the text contrast.
text probably should get the fat outline like the heart has too.
the outline on the heart looks like straight from layer effect so u should edit it by hand to make it more consistent.

the text has hardcore jaggies which are more pronounced by the banding (dim blue outline).
u rly need some AA to smooth it out, adding 2 colours should do it.

Cool sprites but I think they suffer from the black lines.
Coloured outlines IMO  :y:

try using a background that is closer to grey (or desaturated colour) 50% brightness.
it helps to get better value balance that way.

Once you've made a ramp, there's an easy way to balance out the values rather than doing it completely manually.
If you don't have Photoshop, you can also do this in Gimp (free) I believe.

Menu: Image - Adjustments - Levels
Mess around with all these sliders for a while and you should start to get a feel for it (if not, Google).
