If you look now, two templates have been added at the top : needs re-write, needs expert attention. Check out the discussion page, apparently it's being discussed there if you want to chip in.

Here's a rough edit:

Keeping the colour count, I changed around the highlights and shading/lighting a bit. Did some rought aa and dithering. Although the lines of the lid on the top wrap around the button differently (they only meet the buttons halfway through if you know what I mean) and the front line of the lid is supposed to be curved, I forgot to add those two things.

Edit: I forgot, you need the ATI sticker in the bottom right of the front face  ;)

On her right hand the base of the thumb is as wide as her wrist, I'd make it a bit smaller. I'd advise against using photoshop to automatically change colours, you'd be better off choosing your colours manually. Having said that, I don't see anything wrong with there being a mix of green in the colours. What kind of lighting is this set in, by the way? If her face is facing downward like that, then I wouldn't have thought it should be shaded like it is judging from the rest of the shading.

I think there's a conflict in the shading on the torso; the front part looks like the lightsource is way over to the left, but the little highlight part to the right of that suggests a nearer lightsource. Same for the head; there's a highlight on the front of his face, but there's also one to the bottom-right of the jaw. I think this makes the form of him look flat and "embossed" if you see what I mean.

Well, the two moons were meant to form the eyes of a face in the sky, the massive personification of terror/fear/anxiety, that's the whole concept of this piece, hence the title; the trees and ufos are really just a by-product of that, they were meant to act as sloping "eyelids" for the moons to reflect the same anxious expression as the running character. I guess that wasn't executed well and was confusing, so I've changed it around a bit now and ditched the concept altogether:

I plan to draw the branches of the trees in the foreground with the same "fading out" lighting as the new tree, I just haven't got round to it yet. I have to fix the palette too. I'm thinking of putting a few multi-coloured illuminous objects around the rest of the trees in the background. Alex, I'll remember to put in highlights on the tree tops from the moonlight, thanks for reminding me. :)

Update:

Worked on the left tree a bit and added the preliminary body of the traffic light.

I guess I want to go for a realistic look for the tree tops, so I'll totally redo them, branch by branch, leaf by leaf. Thanks for the tip there.

I just wondered about the lump on her face. I would've thought it should look something like this:

Looks good (and evil, hehe). The level of contrast in the piece kind of makes the details in the 'gawd' hard to see, though. Is that selout on the top of the devil's head? If so, I'm not really sure it is needed on this, as this has an opaque backround which the outline can be purpose drawn for. Also, you could use the two lightest colours on the devil as anti-aliasing on the gawd's edges.

Hey, this is my first post here. Just wanted to get some C+C on a piece I'm working on:

Behind/below the character there's going to be a monster hiding behind some bushes, and there'll be some more trees in the background. I'm not liking how the tree tops look like sponges with a pencil stuck straight in them, so I'm thinking about adding branches and going into a bit more detail there.
Also, I was wondering whether I should stick a traffic light on his head in a ptoing style ;p
