They all look flat due to not having any lighting model at all or *barely* any shadows, but they ideas are cute.  :y:

oh and PNG for the win, fo'shizzle.

Why are you using a straight-on perspective? I always prefered having the camera psuedoly looking a bit down on the side from above.

Not my fault I wanted to make a toucan with a double size version because firefox uses antitropic filtering by default on zoomed in images.
And I had a hard-drive crash awhile ago AND the art was OK, but it's old.

Looks more like a brisk walk to me.

make the legs when they move in front come out more, almost to the point where they couldn't bend at the knee anymore.

Also make it so his body leaves the ground entirely for a frame or two.

Well it's funny you'd even post in the first place if you'd want a critique, eh?

It still has problems and you won't improve much if you never go back and fix things up

I don't know the hills are too yellow hued and your guys skin is too red, other than the anatomical problems on him and porportions (His head is too big). The grass, the trees, and  you guy have no indication of any clear lighting from the sun or otherwise, everything looks pillow-shaded.

Digging the water though, but like everything else, throw some dark colors around.

Alright, took a closer look outside of FAILFOX 3 (thanks default bi linear blurring.)
Why are you using so many colors that are all the same pretty much? you use so many colors that look the same. Everything is getting an ugly pillow shaded/blurred out/washed down look to them. Use less colors. Make them each count.

Your also dithering in such small places, not needed. In-fact it's contributing to the problems.

Please excuse my horrible edit, maybe I was drunk at the time, but perhaps it may help you.

I played with the head and arms, plus some colors on the guy and I fixed a few issues on a few things here and there

I do traditional pencil art along with pixel art, I can draw concepts and convert to pixels if needed.
I like playing with palletes, colors, and trying to do animation.
I'm fond of anything whimsical, charming, unusual, "cool" looking or anything that represents great art talent.
My other hobbies include
  • massive midi music (I use a high-quality hardware synthesizer)/game-music geek-it-trey, enthusiast, composer.
  • Voice-over work
  • Basic Programming or "easy-to-program" languages (Flash, PlayBasic, DarkBasicPro)
  • Flash MX or Above
  • Videogames when I'm not working on some art-form/coding drudge-work

I'm always looking for work and ways to improve myself.
Available for part-time and full-time pixel or drawn art positions.

I save pixels into PNG format, but can save to almost any format, including animated gifs. I try-to work in as few colors as I can without hurting a piece of work.

I'm always willing to negotiate pay per hour/pixel/lump sums. Can talk over IMs(Aim, meebo) as often as needed.

I have:
  • A scanner
  • Photoshop Cs3
  • Paint shop pro 7 (Used for all pixel work)

CAW!...Err, I mean, it looks flat. As a pancake. I can hardly tell what it is, to me, it looks like 3 boxes slapped together with some kind of propulsion added to the bottom.

It needs some kind of recognizable form!?

Black-lines not helping the hopelessly flat feeling...Hmmm.

The red ambient light looks more like fresh blood more than anything else

wow, great work. Trully inspired. I have nothing more to say. I like the edited pallete and the non-edited pallete for some reason
