Pixel Art / Re: Overwarm - Run Clyde, Run!

The first frame, why do you have it so his hand is showing thru the back? it would be obscured by his front side ( at his current angle-ledge)

You need to look at every frame and ask if it's helping it look like a run cycle or not. If a frame looks weird you need to adjust it and keep pasting it back into your animation until it looks right.

Here's another example, it looks perfect for you, because:
1. It's a kid
2. It's "cartoony"
3. It looks correct

Here is a trick- Try mirroring your animation so your guy is running left like the animation above...Does it look weird? then something has gone wrong

The entire thing, well, it just looks weird.

It looks as if he's stuttering in place, not even making contact with the ground

watch a person walk and compare it to your animation

Are you throwing your frames into the animation as you work or are you trying to do it all at once?

If you need less frames, take out recoil.

I don't like the pallete, I wanted it to be more game-like and dynamic. I dunno.
Still working on beak.

What do you think of outlines?

Thanks. But as I said before: I haven't gotten to that part yet :) I havent gone back to work on it since the last animation.  :D

Your animation mock-up is insanely cute though, thanks, it's toucan-licious. It's actually much better than what I was trying to do on animation #2 in the first post. Reminds me of the painter boss doodles in castle crashers.

We should do a super-realistic version and a super cartoony version and then another version.

Tail movement, maybe?

I couldn't resist:

TOUCAN Beeeeeeam! Super duper rushed and rough idea

Hello, Trevor #2, still a work in progress, I havent gotten around to doing anything more than replacing the body and intended to do some more expressive movement on different body parts. Thanks for your CC.
If you'd like to edit go hog toucan ...wild ->

The reflection on the bottom off the floor is making very little sense to my eyes

thank you conceit, I didn't like the head movement much, I liked that it added more movement to look at though

The beak should be almost as large as it's body...I know.
