Pixel Art / Re: Bear Thing
« on: May 25, 2011, 07:27:36 pm »
In all honesty, it's not even a bear at all. It's some weird thing I drew, and it looked like a bear more than anything else. So yea...  :blind:

With the nose, I meant it to be human-like. I'll work on that later. Anything else? (Edit coming soon)

This is something new that I've been messing around with. During school, I drew a bear thing, and decided to pixel it. If you want the original drawing, I'll get around to posting it.

Here it is, no shading yet and the bear should be holding a bag. I also gave it a people nose.

Bumpdate. 4 colors (plus transparency). i checked. this time i'm right. the up sprites kinda look awkward. i edited them a little since last time.

imo the background is very monotonous. you probably want something to break it up.

The thingy on the first sprites was a hat. Just making that clear. I have changed the hat to good old fashioned purple hair. I haven't animated the hair yet. I just wanna make sure it looks ok first.

@phlakes:
I think I'll change to 32X32 if these sprites turn out badly, and I also have screwed the limiting. As an amateur, i think i shouldn't be limiting my pallets yet.

Heyo. Really sorry for my last few train-wrecks. I just was not capable of finishing the sprite. (or posting that on the thread. lol.) However, this has taught me, that at this stage in my pixel-art career, i should stick to smaller sprites until i improve.

I have started an RPG, and i need critiques on the overworld sprites. They are not great, as are the pallets. I'm limiting myself to 4 colors per 16 by 16 area. (i will probably get lazy and change this.)

Link would be proud.

The house on the left's roof is unnaturally rounded.

This is pretty boss!  :D

Thank you so much. Edits coming soon.

[EDIT] boom.

sorry this one took so long. ive had tons of stuff going on recently.  :crazy:

the shading on the arms is still a little arbitrary and gross, but i think its a step in the right direction
