It's still an improvement but yes, you did end up with some pillow shading. You need to consider a light source. Right now it's like the lightsource is positioned exactly above each panel, each panel is concave, and the lightsource is very weak/narrow.

Consider how the shape would be lit as a whole, rather than panel-by-panel.

That's a lot more readable from where I'm sitting.

Currently, his head gets skinnier as he walks. This should decidedly not happen.

Looks awful like her hand is on backwards in the latest of the large images.

Love the concept, though.

Your colour choice and composition are quite pleasing, but there seems to be some major perspective issues, especially in the first one.

I'll let someone with more experience than me explain, but the points where you can see the issues clearest are the right-most wall of the main building, and the lower left surface (the roof of the shack).

That idle animation has a lot of personality, I like it a lot.

I'll be interested to see how your walk cycles look.

Or add one more frame, so the arc of the blur remains there briefly when the sword has finished moving.

I actually disagree regarding the straight vines - I think they lend a lot to the slightly stylised atmosphere.

I don't see how having different sized planks for the roof throws off the perspective.
I'm pretty sure they didn't have the tools to make everything even in the time period my game is set in.

Because your roofing planks are the only haphazard section of the house, and despite their awkward cut, they all terminate perfectly on the end and apex of the roof.

Disregarding perspective is not the correct way to make something more interesting if you're also going for a degree of realism.

Consider making the roof out of shingles and tiles or something - they can overlap randomly and be generally interesting, but still follow logical perspective.
