Pixel Art / Re: Difficulty starting to make pixel art characters.

I agree with MysteryMeat. Honestly, I think the best way to think about and approach pixel art is to view it as an abstraction of traditional drawing, mainly because of the limitations inherent to the medium. The thing is, if you don't have a good base knowledge of how the human body works then trying to simplify it is usually not going to end well.

Wow, that looks much better! I think the anti aliasing fixes some of the issues I had with the piece before. One thing I would still change though are the lines near the bottom of the neck. I can see what you're trying to do, but personally I would just get rid of them and keep the neck as one solid color. Keep up the good work though!

Well, I'm not quite sure what this is supposed to be. I think it's a medusa, but I'm not entirely sure. A bit more info about the piece would be helpful.

One thing that really stands out to me are your outlines. There are quite a few jaggies, which makes the outlines looks messy and cluttered. Essentially jaggies are when you surround a pixel line with larger lines or vice versa, thus giving a "jaggy" appearance. Here's a good video on the topic: https://youtu.be/U6X2sFtugT8

A couple of the lines on the neck appear to not be well placed, and that's drawing quite a bit of my attention and it muddies the picture.

I think the strongest point in your piece is the hair. While there still quite a few jaggies, the hair is the most readable part of the piece. Overall it's a decent start and I think you should definitely keep at it!

Thank you so much for your detailed response! You've answered probably one of the biggest questions I've had about sprinting!
