Hello,
My name is Joshua Cheney, I'm an illustrator, animator and game dev. I'm the Co-Founder and artist behind a small 2-man game studio. We recently showed our game at Boston Festival of Indie Games. You can see my work on both my company and personal twitter page. You might have to scroll down a bit, the studio account has more finished work, my personal account shares a variety including old prototypes and mock-ups. Thank you for your time and patience browsing them.

My e-mail is JoshuaRCheney@gmail.com, I can share additional animated gifs if the links I've already provided aren't clear enough of a demonstration.

What you're asking for is quite a project. I would recommend something shorter than 3 minutes, as anything with complex animation at that length is a lot of work. Considering you are going for a super-hero action trailer your animation requirements will be complex, as compared to a comedic animation that mostly requires dialogue.

I would love to work on this for you but we would need to strike a compromise. Duration, compensation, and quality are the dimensions that have to be traded-off to find a compromise.

I suggest keeping the quality up at the cost of duration. A 1 minute animation may be a better fit. Sprite art animation is the costliest of all. That's why when you see intros in sprite-based games they are usually stills with text, or are broken into pieces that are simply slid around rather than rotated or performing any complex gesture that requires.

Here's an example at the beginning of this video: https://youtu.be/lGSKZgEnbYI

Here's a demo reel of some older flash animations I made years ago. Flash animation would be a cheaper option, but I understand your preference for pixel art, as I too prefer it.

If you wish to flesh this out and negotiate a price, I assure you that my prices are reasonable, and are likely relatively competitive with the other guys who replied.

Thanks for your time
Josh
