Pixel Art / Tennis Game

Hello everyone, I'm creating a free 2D Tennis game inspired in superTennis:



So far I have created a simple court and ball, and now I'm dealing with the hardest part, the characters. For doing them I have picked a template and now I have to dress and animate the character.

I'll be posting here my advances here. For now this is what I have: Bodies and Heads separeted in order to create multiple characters, and the ingame looks like this:


Now in my next posts I'll be dressing up this body:


This is what I got so far, shoes are very difficult!

Maybe, but first I need to know what kind of project is, if it's going to be free or proprietary software, and, if the code is in early stages, I could try to code a prototype, I think would be better using ogre 3D, Irrlitch or something like this.

Anyway, if you want me to code something (a prototype or something to know what do you think about) MP me.

Good Night! I'm a computer engineering student and amateur game programmer. I want to create some games for practicing and fun but my inspiration is gone. So I'm calling you for help. I would like to make some easy to play an fun 2D game.
Some games like that:
 - Pang
 - Burger time <--- I really love that one
 - Flicky

Can somebody help me?
