just thought id pop in and say thank you for this,
seeing the breakdown of a leg's anatomy in a simplified, color coded form really helped me to understand the way legs work.  ive been drawing from this sketch ever since i first saw it in scribblettes thread :)

edit:  these were the first leg sketches i did based on that drawing.

and a sketch of my own that i wouldnt mind being critiqued

General Discussion / Re: GraphicsGale

get the full edition of graphicsgale.
to me, its the simplest tool around, has all the features i use, and is bug free as far as i can tell.  not to mention its dirt cheep

wow, great spriting
i love those tiki-looking stakes that scroll by too, and the subtle animation of the little guy in pumpkin-mans tenticles is priceless  :y:

i was a paint-user too, but just recently i switched over to the professional version of graphicsgale, heres a link:
http://www.humanbalance.net/gale/us/
its really simple, inexpensive, and took me all of an hour to learn.

on mac, check out grafx2
http://code.google.com/p/grafx2/
ive never tried it, but pixen is, unfortunately, extremely buggy, and has palette issues, and grafx2 seems to be the generally recommended application
