Pixel Art / Scenario Feedback
« on: November 17, 2020, 10:16:30 pm »
Hi!

I'm looking for feedback for these scenario I'm working on,it's a special for christimas so I'm will try to tell what I'm try to do.

So in the first scene the mains focus is give the sun a light beam where hits the ground, the low wall is receiving less light that others before I want to show it more far than others. The columns from the windows I wanted to show erouse on the rocks and not damaged, erosions and imperfections from the rock itself, not some damage provide by a hit, this is a thing that I want to difference even more, not do just damage walls.

The second scene is a desert, I try to make things more soft, cliffs and do a little contrast, the sky I did a simple dithering, but I don't know if there better ways to make skies, specially for video games backgrounds.

Well the last background isn't in a desert, but an arid field that I try to make, again I'm tried to make a light beam from the star, the roof is a color I pick between the standard color from the wood and the color from the light beam, while I use the same colors to make the wood structure and the hay over the crib.

Any advice to help me how to improve I will be very obliged. Thank you!

Nice job  :y:

You control the pixels very well on the hair and beard. The bandings doesn't bother and the light is well done.

Pixel Art / Re: Lights (on a building)

I like the texture. The lights on top seems be attachment by a oval structure that suppossedly leaning by watching the shadow cast. The shadow of the right can produce more straight line shadow. The second window indicates the building would be turning so the lights will not hit with the same strength.

Oh wait, just remembered, my apologies that Samus sprite wasn't yours it was Jmrhdb's (you did an edit for him). Well for this the other thing I'd recommend is doing bigger with it other than that it's really down to fundamentals and practicing those. Specifically for this you can check out Proko's head drawing videos. it's good you're practicing, keep doing that.

No problem, I will do it. Thank you!

Fundamentals will help you immensely. That's my biggest recommendation.

Also, fixing work after you're given critiques is helpful. I did a 10-20 min edit on your samus sprite I recommend checking it out.

I'm following your advice, I'm watching the fundamentals while sometimes I just draw.

I try to use my reference at same size and even that I didn't figure out why I cannot replicate well in contrast with her husband that I could do it very well. Can someone point where I'm did wrong?

Thank you!

You could make his right arm go more foward while the left arm hold in back for the height of lance doesn't force to down or make his right arm hold in the middle of the cable for the height be equally distributed.
