Pixel Art / Re: Inconsistent Gate! Help Needed~

Well, I've been using Paint since forever, but I use Graphics Gale for things like "Full desaturation" and what not, but I feel more comfortable on paint tbh :/

Thank you for the tip Tsukasa  :) I've been looking at the palettes people use on their pieces, in detail of course and no one uses a sat higher than 200 for each, as far as I've seen... I guess only if you're looking for a cartoony feel to it.

Edit: Is it me or is the new wooden flooring under the gate starting to look off dimensional a bit @.@ I tend to confuse myself alot with dimensions and what not :/

Slightly, I believe it is because the heigth of the stones is not the same, compare the side heigth and the middle, it's only 1 Pixel though I think.
Best thing to do is look at palettes, aswell, yea.

As gil mentioned above, it needs more weight

The stature itself is falling backwards as it is, so try centering it more! Balancing with a vertical line will help alot!
Basicly it is just the torse and downwards that needs a slight movement backwards, so you should reckon to fix that I believe!

Be carefull that the colors of the palette are harmonizing with each other and that there's a transition for possibly each for preferencial smooth gradients.
When making palettes think of the black/white balance, depending what it is for, dull things are often not so balanced and often have a gray tone to it, like a city would happen to be!

Best thing you can do is play around with different color variations, studies mostly! You will get into the teachings of colorusage pretty easy if you deal with it :)
Most artists prefer to use pastel-tones, as they are easy for the eye, instead of high-saturated colors as shown above, those do not match with the Ichiraku Ramen shop you've shown as example, it is rather unsaturated, I guess it's been mentioned before...

Yeah...

Thought I'd point some stuff out...also, sorry for the Oekaki-ness but it's just basic fixes to show the reflection and other stuff (horizon definition)
I didn't even see the that there are flowers on the other side they are so tiny :)
This pic has quite some potential, I know I didn't fix everything, as water is very very hard to do but I did my best (even though it's late here)

Hope I helped a bit

Just wonderous that he gives credit on the non-important websites, not on those where he is "someone"

Very nice if it is your own! Agreeing with Ryumaru above though that it could need some variation in terms of colors, maybe it's porportions are also a bit off but that can be easily fixed!

This is the original!

Made an edit and worked on the legs :D
I think they still are too masculine though, but I don't have much time anymore so I'm uploading this XD
I rounded up the breast because no boobs have edges like that heh...
So yeah...
Maybe adding 1 more color would make it smoother :O

I think sword of mana is a very bad example when it comes to colors and pixeling, as it is very bright and, vetter example would be seiken densentsu 3 hehe
I agree that this grass is very simple, and the bright colors have alot to do with communicationpsychology but i wouldn't compare my tiles to those, colorwise :p
best thing to make grass tiles is always putting them next to each other like, making a 64x64 canvas yeah...always try to get lost of the grid :), thats what I always do when I make patterns or other stuff such as tiles, to make them not look as repitative.
