Pixel Art / Re: [CC] Top-down Shooter Mock
« on: July 01, 2018, 05:36:23 am »
Compared to my skill level with the style compared to the Artist in Monolith I got some work to do. and the main reason for the background is because of the style they choose to do in Monolith, I'll play around with it when I wake up though!

Heres the ref photo I used to get a better understanding of what I was trying to aim for.

Pixel Art / [CC] Grass Tiles
« on: September 11, 2017, 12:15:25 am »
I Attempted grass tiles the other day and created this wonderful tile using refs

I find that I have a problem with the rocks/dirt under the grass and used "moss" around the tile to make it better
Today I when back and created a new grass tile with a new ref and this is how it turned out:

This one feels a lot better compared to the last one, but I feel I could still improve on it, any suggestions to make it better would be awesome!

This is what I  kinda meant, cause how you have the bridge atm. You would see a bit of the handrail on the other side of it

Pixel Art / Re: Skeleton using pico-8

Yep, I've made some bad proportions in my art, and thanks for the video with HB.
I went back and scale down my canvas size,(Don't think I'm ready for anything bigger than 32x32 currently)
I made this using the Pico-8 palette still:

using this pixel art as a ref https://jesse-m.itch.io/skeleton-pack.
[I don't know if it could be me only, but I find when I do pixel art, I work better and get a clear view on how to mange and use the pixels when I'm using a pixel art ref compared when I use an irl ref or a photo/art]
I'm gonna take a short break from arting then jump back going through these tutorials:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PixelArt/comments/gxmgh/pixel_art_tutorials/

any suggestions on the new skelly would be amazing!
thanks ~dky

This is just my view on it and you can change it if it helps but with the re-boxed, I did those areas

That area feels like a flat plane compare to the bottom of the bridge and boat as doesn't show the depth on the top of the bridge,
if you can see it.

Overall, it's lovely and I hope can fix those perspective errors, can't wait to see the final piece.

Hey guys, just wanted to update of what I been working on with my palette. I created a player sprite and a tileset. Would love your opinions on it. Feel like I missed up on the tileset alittle

Pixel Art / Re: Stello Hexis' Monsters for RPG

I overall love it, but one thing I can say imo, some of your monsters poses are great and some are bland. The Small axe ore, the mimic chest, skull flower and vine monsters have really great poses. While the maggot, floating guy and the cow with three tails have some rather bland poses and could use some dynamic poses. Keep in mind that just my opinion on the posing as I think it all looks amazing. Keep it up : )!
