Pixel Art / Re: How to make a proper eye, nose and mouth?

I always do a rough paper sketch first, no matter if it's a face or just a building. Just to give me a sense of where things go. If it's for some more complex facial expression, or even posture and hands, I just...use a mirror. Seriously try it out! No better way to convey a facial expression that you're after than doing it yourself. I usually take a quick pic too then use it as a reference.

I personally think it's gorgeous :) The color palette is very soothing as well. You did a great job with the cloud dithering!

Perspective looks much better :)
I still prefer the grass to lean more towards green than yellow but that's just me.

For me personally it's how huge the height of the ground is. It's so long that on first glance it just looks like ground that's part of the terrain rather than a cutout soil. I did a quick (and terrible) edit in Paint to show you what I mean:

I think the height of it should be the same, or max double from your actual tile size. :)

Also I like your original colors!

Pixel Art / Re: New at animating, feels like a limp. Help!

Self bump!
I tried to make a quick spinning animation, but the feet just feel like they're spazzing out. Any tips?

I know the animation is a bit fast, I wanted it to be so I can get more of a feel of the flow. It looks -okay- when it's slower, but then I can't really note the hiccups.  :-\

Her breasts seem to be coming out of her chin :) Both torsos could do with some re-adjusting, their necks seem to only be defined in the back and not front. Your female also feels like she has a hunchback, you could flatten it by a pixel. Otherwise their lower halves seem okay!

Other than the right leg being really far out, it looks good :) Try moving it a tad, make it a bit more parallel to his arm. Or you can just move the foot a bit and keep the leg, the foot looks a bit detached!

Ah, but it's so convenient to use it  :D I will try not using it next time, but for darkening things like the terrain when going deeper and deeper underwater I think it's a good idea to use it?

It's convenient but deceitful :) It will not really make you learn colors and shading, but provide an easy and temporary cheat to do it. Eventually you'll end up (in a bigger, more complex piece) with more colors than the 256 old GIF limit and Pyxel Edit will simply not let you save your file above the color limit. Trust me I learned this the hard way when I first started...

But yes what you -could- use it for is to just darken, or in your case add a blue hue to the reflection, but only AFTER you've composed the scene with more limited number of colors.

Cause what you're doing now is, let's say you have 30 colors in your forest, the reflection will double that number cause it will add a new hue to all of them. :)

So yeah, start simple and forget about the opacity as easy as it makes things appear!

This looks a lot like the Achebit tutorials :P

Anyway little tip, when using Pyxel Edit... ignore the opacity option for your pen (It looks to me like you used it - sorry if not). It's an easy "cheat" to shade and blur things out but it leaves you with dozens of colors you don't really need. Pixel art is about narrowing down your colors to display your art without necessarily using hundreds of colors.

I'd really recommend starting off with something smaller, like maybe just focus on the character for now and not the background or environment.
