Great community here. Many talented artists applied for the job!

And so we have found the artist we needed.

I'll lock the topic now, thank you for your time

Hello everybody, I'm the game designer and script writer of a small team that's working on a multi-platform point and click adventure.

We're looking for a good pixel artist who can improve the look and overall feeling of our very, very basic preexisting pixel art (mostly background, no animations required).
The image attached is a good example of said art. As you can see, at the moment it looks really plain and amateurish.

We'd like to reach a much higher level of quality, especially with the color fills, as we intend to sell the game on Steam, among others gameshops.
Not awe-inspiring art, but professional at least.

Considering the job consists of only about twelve game areas like this one, we'd like to pay per level rather than per hour. I've read the forum rules, and I'm willing to offer an adequate compensation depending on the quality of your work and the time you think will be needed.

We'll pay you upfront for each game area.
To ensure that you'll not betray our good faith, though, we'll require you to show us some sort of preview before each payment, like a low definition image with your logo superimposed.
It goes without saying (but I'm saying it none the less, ain't I?) that your name will also feature in the game credits.

If interested, please send me a message with some samples of your previous works, or an email at the following address:

For more info about the game itself, it is based on a fairly succesfull interactive web comic, "Zombie Society", that I wrote and programmed last year. published by Y8.com.
We're trying to achieve a retro feel, hence the pixel art, mixed with a cartoony ambiance and an innovative gameplay heavily focused on the detective aspect of solving puzzles.

Thanks for your time,  looking forward to hearing from you!
