General Discussion / Re: Learning to do Pixel Art

Very cool idea ;D , nice to see you're really up to it. I should try it too, at least if it's a small piece. I think challenging yourself is also a good idea, IE: I challenged myself last year to draw human bodies in different positions, first month was a pain in the ass, after a while it got much better.

Where do you drive your inspiration from?

General Discussion / Re: Contra 4 DS - Developped by WayForward

Nice to open a topic about Contra.

I've been a fan of the (real) Contra series since NES, me and my brother can beat Contra 1 for NES with a single life I think.

And we thought we were actually prepared...

I can't believe how you managed to put so much love in this title. The music is nice, and the (little spoiler) difference between the first song in Normal and Hard = PRICELESS. The Challenge mode is something completely new in the classic Contra series, and really adds a lot of fun (I've only been able to beat half of it, it's really insane). Pixel work is amazing, and gameplay is fast-paced and even harder than many previous Contras, which says a lot of it. The best thing about this game is that you can't stop playing it, no matter how many times you lose.

Buy it. NOW. Don't forget to tell your friends to buy it since 2-players is how this game is meant to be played!

The game will be released for PC (Windows) and there is a demo available for download at http://pc.wind-water.net if anyone would like to try it :)

Thanks

Hi everyone! :)

We are an independent videogame company (me and my brother) called Yuan Works. We had developed a 2D (pixel art) puzzle game for the GP2X (a korean handheld), called "Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles", and we're now planning a PC (Windows) version. Here are some screenshots:

The website is: http://pc.wind-water.net, and you can find more videos and screenshots here: http://www.wind-water.net/gallery.html

The game is pretty old school but quite long, and since this is THE forum for pixel art, I felt like it was worth mentioning!

We hope that you like it and any comments, questions, suggestions, or anything is welcome!
