Pixel Art / Re: Trying pixeling out
« on: January 15, 2018, 04:59:20 pm »
I like your art style.
Additionally, to what was mentioned before, I think the right arm is too long if it is behind the torso. I would erase the sleeve pixels of the right shoulder if the arm is behind the torso and shift the whole arm by one or two pixels to the right and maybe try moving the arm a few pixel up.
Now, it looks like the arm is growing.
The arm in front of the torso looks fine to me.

PS: I refer to "right" from my view, so I hope i did not confuse you ;)
Thanks!

I don't mind the ears. I think they should go down when the body goes up and up when the body goes down. Or at least have a delay. And maybe the back one is a little dark? I also think the shirt could move up and down separate from the pants if that makes sense. Might add a little more interest overall. Also it seems like his left arm moves a little bit too far back. It might not even be visible when it goes behind him at the angle he's facing. Maybe you could make it move forward a bit more when it comes forward (along with part of the sleeve like his right arm does).

Thanks for the advice!

Pixel Art / Trying pixeling out

Greetings,
I am not an artist and never been one; I am more into science, coding and stuff related to the technical part of games rather than art, but recently I've decided to try something new out. This is what I came up with:

And also I made a little walk cycle animation (my first attempt):

It will be a pleasure to hear any advices/critique

Thanks,
Tim

P.S: Ears look kinda lame, aren't they?

Pixel Art / Re: Need some help with shading :/
« on: August 05, 2016, 06:45:19 pm »
I made an edit :) .

First off, it is difficult to shade a ghost, the biggest reason being that they are semi-transparent. It's basically like shading mist. Another reason why shading is difficult is because it is so small, and with small images , the general shape and form is more important than the details. What I did is not to worry about the shading, and just get the form of the ghost down, along with some clothes. Ghosts resemble a person, so I drew a human-like figure first. Then I made it look kind of whithered, after that, I cut down the legs to make them seem like they are fading away. Then I added some clothes on in a different color. I also made it a little bit bigger, just so that I could put in some more detail. So yeah, I hope this helps.

Thanks! Looks better than my "version" hehe

Greetings!

I am so motivated to draw pixel art, but shading is a pain for me. Today I started to draw ghost... well, i think it just looks like a bunch of pixels. What do u think about silhouette? And can you help me with shading with your advices/guides? Thanks a lot!

p.s. i forgot the image itself, here:
