Don't steal assets, i see the tree is the same as in terraria, i know it's based off of terraria but it's too similar, and the penguin ufo is from the game Starbound. If those are supposed to be placeholder, then you're good to go. But i did not recommend publishing a game with stolen assets

Maybe try adding more objects in?

quick edit:

Obviously, if this is for a game you have to make it to a tileset, but i'm sure adding dirt, rock and taller grasses will do. And of course my fix isn't the best, just making my point clear  :P

no offense but i do think it's too dull, too. (Also why is the mouth moving?  ??? ) Try mixing colors on the skin, like steve from minecraft, for example.

1 Color

Mixed

I don't know if this will fix it, but i'm sure this will make the skin seem to have more things going on (if done correctly).

darker color seems better to me, and warmer color in this case seem to.. does not make sense(?) since it's darker the more the robe covers. But if that seems fine to you, then well done   :)

The shading is not right, the body is darkened on the opposite side of the cloud's shading, the cloud's shape needs to be a little connected to the lamp, to make it actually look like the genie is coming out from it. You shade it too much, especially the cloud, gas doesn't need that much shading. Try using lower res next time! I'm sure you'll be good at this! Keep on trying!  ;D

Darken the lower part of the drill, move the front wheels more to the (well) front, make shadows underneath and make the other side of the wheels, right now it looks like the car only has 2 wheels

If you're not sure whether you like the framerates, you should test them first. In my opinion the frames are too low, that it would just look like a cycling image. Also, on your first sprite, try using lower resolution, then work your way up. Some people even stayed on a low resolution but made an amazing art, some are even better than higher resolution. Also, higher resolution tend to need more frames, as it wouldn't seem right. If you are trying the 4-frame walk cycle, try using lower res.

Not quite sure what you did here, I'm afraid. Can you clarify? Where is this new light source coming from?
he added highlights on the skull, and the rock. The light source is coming from the gate(?)

Hey!  ;D nice work so far, but your shading is too rough,  and you only shade the top piece while the corners of the face should be shaded too! And the head part of the robe is too wide. Now, i'm not really experienced, (also i'm not sure if i like the highlight on the shoulder) but here it is, too lazy to fix it again  ;)
Before

After

You will need to fix it again, i'm just making my point clear, not to make it look good, as you are the one who need to make it look good  :)
