The sprites look great. I would make the background using only the 2 lighter colors of the palette, otherwise the sprites would become too hard to see. If you look at most GB games, sprites usually use the darker colors while the background is light and low in detail. Some games try to use a white outline on sprites so they stand out, but to me that just makes harder to see exactly what they are supposed to be. In a game with only 4 colors, readability is the no. 1 priority!:) Thanks for the info!, just recently i was investigating bout the same thing of the backgrounds, it clears me any doubt.
Thanks for the advice and responses everyone! (I appreciate it a lot!)Great!
1. The grass advice is great, but I am going for a grass more similar to the grass posted by Julito98.
2. Your advice makes since, but I guess I am going for a more unnatural rock formation. The color and general "unnatural" shape is intentional. (Your tips will greatly help me in the future when I want to create normal styled rock though! Thank you for taking the time to post Johasu!)
Julito98, I love your grass! It will give me a great idea to work with... though it may be a while, I can't wait to post an update with a style of grass similar to yours!
