Job offers / Looking for an RPG story writer $100 USD
« on: December 20, 2018, 04:53:23 pm »
Hi I'm looking for someone talented to craft a story for an old school RPG engine I'm working on. I want to release a 2-3 hour demo, my engine is solid, and I have enough content, but no motivation for the characters. If interested please post or PM me a story outline with characters and major, plot points.

I'll make selection and pay $25 for a more fleshed out outline, and an additional $75 once completed.

I gave it a go.  It's pretty small for a lot of detail.  A few more pixels all the way around would make a big difference.
Using fewer colors with a lot of contrast may help.

Thanks Yeah it is hard, but its surprising how much variety you can get out of an 18x24 sprite these are 16x24

Thanks, I get that, I really do, but I'm trying to see what others might be able to come up with, I suppose Ive designers block, and I had the sprite so long that I'm really interested in what someone else would do with the character and space provided.

Hi

I need help redesigning a sprite. I drew this years ago and I love the sprite, but she's a bit plain. Can you guys give a redesigned costume a try. The dimensions are 18x24 (as outlined by the dark green area) The sprite shouldn't be any bigger that... well maybe a pixel taller is ok.

I think this might be a cool design to try (I edited this from tactics ogre) but this is just an example.

Thanks

Decided to look in on this topic again.

Your sword swipes need secondary motion. Just having the arm move looks unnatural. Often its enough to shift the sprite back a pixel, when a weapon is drawn back, and forward a pixel at the end of the swing.

Quick edit

Also Black is doable too the important thing is to try to keep your different parts of the sprites sharp and distinct. In any case don't get discouraged keep at it you'll get better.

I took the liberty of editing your sprite. Feel free to use  :)

The original costume is too dark, matching black and blue isn't recommended because or eyes aren't as sensitive to blue light. Also since the character is dark skinned I suggest not clothing them in so many dark colors to help provide contrast.
