Hi there! I just replied via email, but it seems like something went seriously wonky with one of the embedded GIFs so I wouldn't be surprised if the message went straight to spam. Anyhow, you might notice an incoming friend request from grakxsar#2013, that's me. Also, my portfolio here on Pixelation is at https://pixelation.org/index.php?topic=15928.0 if you'd care to have a browse.

Hope to chat with you about Pure Blood! :)

Job offers / Re: Looking For Artist - Personal Logo/Twitch/YouTube Graphics
« on: November 09, 2017, 05:13:55 pm »
Hi Old Skewl! This sounds like a cool gig, just wanted to show a few examples of my logos, headers, capsule art and graphic design. I have a lot of experience working with assets to create new & interesting compositions to fit any possible dimensions and my personal archives include a ton of unique textures. Apart from the dark blue grid background in the 1st image and the Steam Workshop bubble in the 3rd, all art elements seen below are my own work.

... and for something completely different, here's an animated short I produced riffing on Excitebike, this is 100% a recreation in Flash (not gameplay capture) which is a pretty alright demo of how I can start with pre-existing assets to create something distinctly new: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSJM0aGc3DY. (Also, I'm pretty handy with editing video in Vegas.)

Please do shoot an email to drixxel AT gmail DOT com if you'd like to chat a little more about what you're looking for or to see some additional samples of graphic design, and here's my full portfolio here on Pixelation should you care to check out some additional samples of my pixel art stuff: https://pixelation.org/index.php?topic=15928.0 :)

Hi dporter, this sounds like a thoroughly interesting game you're cooking up! Top-down SNES-like stuff is kind of my niche, that's a perspective and style I'm very comfortable working in. See below for a handful of pieces from my portfolio for your consideration:

If you'd like to see more, here's a link to my full portfolio on the forums: https://pixelation.org/index.php?topic=15928.0

Hello!

My name's Drixxel. I've been plying my trade in game art since 2010, split between my own projects, fun freebies and paid gigs for a number of developers. Accurately rotated sprites with fluid animations, juicy effects, modular tilesets, unique creature & character designs -- these are my pixel art specialties, but my repertoire includes a bit of everything. Whether you have a fragment of an idea all the way up to a detailed 3D model you need sprited, I'm confident you'll be satisfied with where I take it. I whip up concept art & sprite drafts in short order and believe strongly in keeping my clients involved along the way. Sketches, mockups, animation demos, whatever you'd like to see to get a sense for how things are shaping up. Feedback is always welcome and I pride myself on flexibility & quick turnaround time with edits :)

If you'd like to enlist my services, or should you care to see additional selections from my portfolio, shoot an email to drixxel AT gmail DOT com and I'll get back to you in a jiffy! If you'd like a quote for some assets right away, it helps a great deal if you can let me know the dimensions you're after (16x16 tiles, 32x32 icons, etc.), a rough idea of any animation requirements (4 frame walk cycle, 8 frame explosion, etc.) and a sample of the art style you're looking for. I prefer to bill hourly but I'm perfectly happy to price things out on an asset-by-asset basis, let's talk :y:

With all that wordage out of the way, please enjoy a browse of some of my stuff below! :D

Pixel Art Feature Chest / Re: THE CLUSTER STUDY THREAD!
« on: October 23, 2013, 11:32:36 pm »

I don't have anything technical to say, but I like your edit, overall it's a lot cleaner!  Only thing I really dislike is the new face, the old one had much more personality.  Perhaps try accentuating his old features to be a bit stronger/ more visible?  Might just be me, though.

Thanks for the feedback! I kinda-sorta agree with you on the face, the old Ryu's expression is definitely more interesting, the open mouth especially. I might play around with this a bit more.

After messing around with it for a bit, it's impossible not to echo the thread's sentiment regarding that R-Type enemy's purple gun thing. Blarg.

EDIT: Attempted to fix a couple blatantly obvious screw-ups, although the low contrasty approach is not really doing this fellow any favours.

Mainly tried to trim Ryu down a shade without robbing him of his original doughiness, as well as to sort out the fabric a bit (although not totally successfully).

EDIT: Those pants were really bugging me and demanded another pass.

General Discussion / Re: Read the Rules, then introduce yourself here.

Hello people of Pixelation,

I've been lurking these parts off and on now for a good long while and felt it was high time to say a few words, things such as "Hi!" and "How goes it?". This has to be the most knowledgeable and passionate community of pixel artists I've run across, and as ours is a medium I've rarely found an opportunity to relate to people on in the workaday world, the prospect of getting involved in, and learning from, the sorts of cool discussions and critiques common to this place is enormously appealing.

Anyhow, it's good to be here!
