Digitigrade walk goes toe first, the bird is digitigrade, but your creature is not.
If that matters, that is, because in my opinion the creature walks ok.

I think you are either

1) trying to make the viewer believe that you are rotating the mid-section, which looks strange as the belly seems somewhat round and when it rotates it should not add those extra pixels, while not rotating hips at all

or

2) trying to do some deep belly breathing at every step, I don't think it could be so fast.

It doesn't look too awful (considering the 4 frames) unless I try to pay attention (which most players won't), but if you need more improvement, maybe looking at some running videos would help to understand what the hips and butt are doing while running.

The tall black thing seems stiff, and could show a bit more impact when the foot hits the ground.
I doubt the latter can be done with so few frames.

The thing I would try first to reduce the general stiffness would be to a-sync the upper body movement slightly.

I would suggest more contrast on the light colored walls (at the lit side, not at the shadow side), because they seem a bit too clean at the moment. And some more contrast towards darker along the edges to make the edges look less perfectly straight.

[...] the characteristic hunched pose.[...]
I also see the same thing.

You might want to try standing hunched with shoulders forward, bend your legs, put your hips forward and tense your abdominals slightly.
How does that feel?
This is what feels characteristic to the original digimon and you seem to have missed it.
Characteristic like Einstein has characteristic hair.

Also, lizards have their legs slightly to the side and the original has them more bent (and looks like a more confident drawing that way).

Maybe point the gesture towards the whirling in the sky, with a little bit of magic going towards it? The first disturbing thing in the picture that I notice is that I am undecided on the focus being on the background or the foreground. But then the mage would not appear recognizable as doing a nazi salute (which he isn't already in my opinion, maybe because of the relaxed curve in the elbow and low shoulder).
Also, if I didn't know the title I would not have recognized the overlords, and then the rest of it is just generic bugs. Perhaps make the overlords more recognizable somehow? Maybe draw the closest overlord more visible?

I have a strange feeling that someone didn't like my previous post, maybe I should have been more verbose, trying to correct that now (because previously it seemed that a simple confirmation was all that was needed).
I have no experience in doing what you're trying to do, but I think you are on the right track :)
[...]
I have some experience in doing that, and the answer is yes.

And as for the simpler way (which seemed to be the question with secondary priority), the answer is also yes. You could rotate the side view image on the left 45 degrees and you wouldn't need those projecting lines.
The light is supposed to be coming from the upper left hand corner
Assuming that the brightest (yellow) highlights are reflections, are the reflections coming from surfaces that are on the parallel planes?
I see you have added some details that weren't there in the original side view, so for example the highlight on the thing (whatever it is called) that is covering the front wheel and the highlight on the back part of the bike, are those in surfaces on parallel planes? if they are not, then the reflection locations are inconsistent.

where is the intended light source?

Leap Motion looks very interesting, and is dirt cheap in comparison, small, lightweight, accuracy seems to be an overkill, and will probably be not just for drawing.
Therefore I wonder why no one seems to be discussing it here.
Solar charger anyone?

What makes them so expensive? Are they special in some way? I have heard that some considerably more efficient solar cells are in development, but I doubt they are out yet. At those prices I guess some smart guys will start combining a solar cell with a parabolic umbrella with reflective underside, or something (to focus more light at a smaller cell, that is).

Regarding your dragon thread - because you used a very specific cartoony pose, it's probably much easier to assume you are using it as a placeholder to study something else. It's imperative to state your intentions up front ("I want to make a cartoony pose and so far have been copying off this donald duck pose but could folks give advice on that?" or something)
Admittedly it was vague, and I also realized and regretted that a bit later. Part of the reason was that I was tired when I posted it, and the other part was that explanation about what I am trying to achieve exactly is bit on the too long side (and I have still not explained it fully, but it seems I should to avoid confusion).

I see thanking system as being bit too abstract for the purpose, but if people feel that it is meaningful, it is certainly no more than just my opinion.
