Okay, so this isn't my kiskstarter, and it isn't pixel art, but you have to get this on WiiU.

Ghost Song: A Journey of Hope




A beautiful 2D sci-fi metroidvania about love, hope, and redemption. Gameplay influenced by Super Metroid and Dark Souls.

This is a project that has 12 hours left, but still has 14k to get to its stretch goal for Wii U.
it features beautiful animations, and I regularly speak online to the creator, please back it or spread the word.

Here's my half hour effort.



What I did:

CLEANED UP THE OUTLINES
DESATURATED THE COLOURS
Chose a light source
Drew in form
Made some bad grass
Adjusted hues slightly
Made some awful water
Decided that 1 gem wasn't enough, so made 3
Added some shadows
Made an awful effort at a character as i cannot draw them
Tidied things up slightly.

I just began work on a two colour landscape that I am makin and here is a two colour tree that is a WIP. Please could I haveritique about it.

Wow, those look good.

A few crits on the tablecloth.

1. It doesn't seem to have any shading when it goes over the table making it look very flat.
2. Symetry? Break the symetry (maybe by doing what is said in point 4.
3. Perhaps show it is elevated by adding a little shadow on the table.
4 A tablecloth is rarely completely flat. make it look like it has a few creases in it.
5. Light... The pattern is only just darker than the actual cloth making it seem like bad shading.
6. Put some colour in it man (or woman). It is very grey and boring at the moment whereas a lot of the opther stuff has some brilliant colours, get rid of the grey and make it pop more rather than seem like an odd texture over the table.
7. Outline at the moment it seems like the outline is dithered into the table making it seem even worse. I would consider adding a darker colour.

no bad

the path needs to show more depth, lighten the front rocks, darken the back rocks etc
maybe make the path a bit bigger so it can be seen

the background needs more diversity, its very repetitive (and noticeably)

and are the ceiling tiles supposed to have that flat outline?
They actually don't have a flat outline, that is just the background tiles interfering as they are behind it and square.

I personally would just use a dark colour but I would also break up the outlines a bit.

Also, it doesn't have very good forms developed as the shading is rather weak.
