Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Shadow of a Hunter

Finished up the symbol and decided not to be lazy did the rest of the body.

The antennas of light weren't working out so I decided to just throw away the side ones and extended the bottom one.

I'm not sure what you mean by the arms clipping too close but I made her right arm more solid.

Changed some colors so that she's a little more visible and less of an eye strain.

I'm also not entirely sure what I want to do with the background.

I did feel like I shared this a little too early for the progress its at.

Anyhow, switched up the green parts for something a little more.. relevant.

Still have to add the second tier of pieces.

What I'm trying to replicate here

Overall I'm happy with the design and shape of it so far. Next thing is probably the green wing parts.

Still a bit of a beginner on pieces as small as this so any kind of help or advice is always encouraged.

I'll be posting any updates regardless.

Took a lot of the advice and came up with this. I really like the idea of the small town showing off the size of the monolith, gives a nice depth to the picture.

Still gotta work a lot on shadows however and to find out what to put in the bottom left corner.

Shadows fixed and shading is more readable.

Now I've hit a crossroad here. I can play around with the blue hue's like milokey did and work around getting that correct color with the highlights on the roof,

or I can take the cheap route and change it to a red roof. Nicely enough the red shows off the vines much better now and it sits nicely with the desert/forest theme.

Surprisingly both iterations look just as good (I may even prefer the red roof now).

Please excuse the double post, I'm just lonely and looking for CC

Demon's Souls inspired landscape.

Somewhat proud of the clouds, but I know they can be improved much more. Maybe even add in god rays at some point.

Challenging myself since I've never done anything large as this whilst also experimenting with different hue's with the shading.

EDIT: Got the mountains going a bit.

Using the games art style while trying not to copy pixel by pixel.

I plan on expanding with the other classes in view.

C&C always welcome.

I'm trying to represent him in a symbolic way, while avoiding his physical stature and pose (If that makes sense). Adding his pauldron would mean I'd have to add the rest of his torso armor before it seems like it would destroy the look and style I'm trying to get.

I want this to be the kind of thing where if you have no knowledge of what it is trying to represent, it looks mysterious and you are incognizant of it, but if you do know what it is trying to show then you see it right away, much like a silhouette.

Maybe kind of counter productive of wanting feedback but it was an art style I wanted to try.

I figured the lighting of the cloth was acceptable as is, but if someone wants to show me otherwise then please do (I frequently have a hard time with lighting directions). Also in retrospect of the hair, it does look somewhat rigid and frail.

Maybe this will shed some light.

I will see if I can improve on readability.

All that is done for now. I do plan on making more and I will post them here if I do.

EDIT: Shoulders should be more visible now
