I'm Quells with Cape Cosmic LLC. We're an indie game studio with one commercial game under our belt (Phoenotopia: Awakening).

We're starting work on our next game, a yet unannounced Space Western Action title. It will be a 2D platformer shooter - think Sunset Riders or Contra 3 mixed with beat-em up mechanics and prettier graphics. If you can create characters & animations at the level of "River City Girls" art style, you're our candidate!

Right now, work will be light and sporadic since we're still in the art pre-production & brainstorming phase (expecting a full ramp-up around February or March of next year). To start, we need pixel character designs, idle, and run animations to get a feel for the art style and game space.

We can work with hourly rates or pay per animation. If the first jobs go well, we can also onboard you as a team member with royalty share in addition to pay. If you're interested, email me at phoenotopia [at] gmail [dot] com with any relevant links that showcase your art and skills.

Bump!

Hi everyone. The game has made progress and I'm looking to finish it soon. As such I'm also looking to improve some existing art assets. I am working with some other artists right now, but could use some more help since their bandwidth is full. These are the things I'm looking for:

NPCs
Need more varied NPC sprites. Sprites for kids, young adults, elderly, npcs in different occupations, tailor, blacksmith, etc.

TILESETs
Need to improve a few tilesets as well. Caves, Trees, Bricks, and more.

MAIN CHARACTER
The main character does a lot of things like running, jumping, rolling, hitting, throwing a spear, holding things, etc. I also want to redesign the main character, and want to go back and forth with the artist over the design discussion, so communication is a big must for this one.

So yeah, if you're interested in a few or all of these categories, let me know by sending me an email (jacktran122@gmail.com) along with a link to some of your sprite samples. And then we can get into specifics and payment.

Job offers / [PAID] Short commission work needed for small 2D game project

I'm currently doing an indie game project in my spare time. I'm looking to commission someone for some short term sprite work on a per sprite sheet basis.

A little about the project: Currently code-named "Earth 3002", it is a Zelda 2 - like adventure game. The character goes on a journey to save her family, acquiring tools along the way to help thwart enemies and solve puzzles. It's development has been sporadic, on and off for the past year depending on when I have time. I'm hoping to get a significant chunk more of it done during the holidays. I've already started on doing some of the sprite work, so the art style is kinda set. I'm looking for someone who can match my art style and do walking animations for the below characters:

Job and Pay
The above top 3 characters need walking animations (the pink haired character is just for reference). I'm looking for 4-5 frames for their walk, and 1 more frame to complement their idle pose. I will paypal you $20 per character and will also display your name in the credits when the game is finally released.

The characters are pretty low-res, so hopefully it shouldn't take long. The low-resolution presents its own challenge in how to communicate a walk cycle effectively and make it look natural. So if you're confident and interested, email me first at: jacktran122@gmail.com
