Hi, here's an edit for you...which actually might be redundant now i've read your above post about the layered card  :ouch:

it's basically just building upon your newest version (and taught me a bit too off of helm's brilliant edit :)) to try and give a real as a representation of your reference as we can.

hope that helps a little  :blind: ;D ;)

- Rob.

Hi Balls - I've made you an edit which hopefully you'll find helpful :) albeit a rushed one, especially the hair which i did at no zoom and with the biggest ms paint brush haha.

Right, please loose your black outlines! they're really restricting you, especially on the nose.

You seem to be sticking to how, conventionally, a face should look. study your reference more to try and capture your subjects' personality and character.

hope this helps - Rob.

ps - i like your warm colour choices for the skin :)

edit: actually i think i've gone too mad on the white highlights :(

Origional;

Updated;

As you probably know the challenge is to create a label for a drink product. This enegry drink is supposed to 'Uniting Mind, Body and Soul,' aiming to unite in a way only extreme socialism can  :lol:

Thanks alot, Rob.

Hi, Rydin's edit pretty much said it all with the lightsource, but there's some banding issues with it, i've tried correcting just a little section on the tail, but i'm not very good, so i hope you can see what i mean.

If this doesnt help, helm did a really nice post on a thread about banding which should help clarify it for you, if anyone can find it  ???

Pixel Art / [WIP] Pixel signature - Help constructing pose needed!
« on: March 31, 2008, 04:53:18 pm »
Hi i've posted a few times around here and especailly noted the valuable advice and edits you have to offer :)

Here's a forum signature in the making, containing two characters, one being a ranger disposing of an enemy located to our right.

However the pose of the victim is causing me somewhat endless frustration, as this signature is for real currency i have to try and keep to the disires of the buyer, who was understandably unhappy with my first attempt at the second character. :yell:
The pose of this guy needs to be as if he's just been hit by an arrow, obviously, but it's annoying as how such a straight foreward pose is causing me such hastle. :-[

Here is the image;

No background is required, only a plain black one, also the buyer requested a more dynamic pose, taking the full force of the arrow and knocking the victim backwards, off of his feet.

Any help is greatly appreciated, in the form of either edits or advice.

   Many thanks, Rob.  ;D

PS. the victim's robes are supposed to be transparent, another feature causing me greif  :crazy:

Pixel Art / Pixeljoint weekly challenge entry - 'Ancient Chill-out',
« on: March 24, 2008, 09:19:53 pm »
Hola,

Here's an early W.I.P, really need some help with the pose  :yell:

The idea is Herme's the messenger to the gods travelling a hell of a long way to a post box, looking extremely exhausted and frustraited, with the picture quoting "Wait until he finds out he's forgot the stamp."

The pose is really annoying as i can't seem to get it looking correctly for a start, nevermind polished or finished.

The pallete limitations are 12 colours, with the size being 128 X 90, what it is there.

Any help would be brilliant, whether it be through text or edits,
    Thanks, Rob.
