Pixel Art / Re: Move on or tweak?

That sign is really funky for me, something about the angles, doesn't feel like it's cutting it for me.

Hmm, valid point, suppose I missed a bit in my thought process when I formulated my post :P

One would argue even though it is not a major part of the art scene it derived from one of the most successful industries at the moment. Maybe it'll get a short column at least? :P

I don't know feels a bit frustrating that it won't get the attention it deserves. To me it is just as important as abstract expressionism or any of those -ism's. Maybe I'm not biased  ::)

Looks nice. Koyot, your versions have 9 frames. What's the idea behind that?
My mistake sorry :) Two doubled frames.

8 frames

Different timing

This animation is so beautiful so its even looking great in 6 frames ;)

That second one is the best if you ask me, looks more like a jog, more relaxed. The first looks really aggressive and fast, not sure what style you want to go with but that second animation is really smooth and looks very natural to me.

The items looks cool, but I agree with the larger key. It would be really interesting to see a mock-up of this!  ;)

Pixelism? I'm reading through a bunch of art history books I have at home; generally they're only up to the year 2000 (I'm not updated that way) and recently had a through about the way people in say 50-100 years will describe the things going on today, politics etc. which lead me to think about how the art writers will look upon the pixel art "movement" going on now?

Will we see pixelism as a major art movement described in the art books? Or will it be forgotten or thrown in with the video games in future descriptions?

What do you guys think?  ;D

I have a bit of a confession, due to this thread I actually got Advance Wars for GameBoy Advance and played it a bit (love it by the way, thanks for the suggestion) and I am wondering how you are going to animate the combat scene between melee fighters? Will the spears come "over the border"?

you had chosen an isometric perspective.

Wow that white sure makes a load of difference, is it okay if I take that idea and fiddle with it a little?  ::)

For me, technic is very nice. But for me, factory logically building cars, not eating them.

small joke, hope you woulnt be angry at me :)

Haha no worries! :P I just basically improvised it; made a cube and made a mouth and took it from there (to me it looks more like an eater than a creator).  ;D

I'm currently reading up about perspective from some drawing books so I think I might revise that hill later... it feels odd. Thanks for the response!

Started with this today, I was originally going for a little monster but it turned into a house and I suppose you can see where it ended up. I'm happy that I've managed to make a grass tile that looks decently. Not so sure about the dithering or the colour palette.  ???

Hi all, I'm Kragagam and I started doing pixel artwork just under five days ago. Made quite a few small pieces, experimenting, trying to learn and trying to read as much as I can. I might be involved in a game project soon with a friend and a friend of his, hope so think it'd help my progress (adding a bit of stress and some deadlines... right  :D)

edit: I'll add a few things I did today.
